How To Have A Meaningful Day By Helping People?

Feeling bored? Actually, you can go on a Mission Trip to make your day meaningful. My name is Melissa and I'm 19 this year. What exactly is a Mission Trip? Mission Trip is one kind of short-term-ministry work. Usually, this activity is carried out by Christian people. Mission Trip basically goes to a village and spend time with them. Therefore, I'm going to share my experience on Mission Trip here.

Mission Trip 2016 :

The year before, I went on a Mission Trip to Kampung Regang which located in Pahang. In Pahang, there are many villages inside the jungle need our help. For examples, Kampung Regang, Kampung Tual, Kampung Nyamuk and more. In Malaysia, there many Orang Asli and they have 18 tribes. Each time there were around 200 plus of Orang Asli will join us. There are several ways you can help them, as you continue reading, you will find out more.

Mission Trip 2016 in Kg Regang

English Lessons :

We will usually prepare some basic English lesson like A-Z, simple English words like apple, ball, cat and more. We also give them to do coloring on A-Z worksheets. This is because most of them are usually uneducated and they don't have a chance to go school. They usually spend most of their time in the jungle, they will go around and play with others Orang Asli, go to river and swim. Nearby there doesn't have any school, if they want to go school, the parent needs to wake up to send them to school. Some of their parents don't even have enough money to afford a vehicle.

Bible Lesson :

Man can't without God, that's why we also provide Bible Lesson to teach them about Christianity. Most of them are Christian but don't have the opportunity to go church. The Orang Asli kids usually like to listen to Bible story. We observed that the kids will pay more attention towards Bible story so we will give Question and Answer session and also do art and craft on Bible story.

Hygiene Lesson :

The Orang Asli in the jungle lack of some basic education on hygiene and also they don't have the supply of toothbrush, toothpaste, body shampoo and more. They usually just get into the river to swim and then walk around under the hot sun until the shirt dry. They don't bath with shampoo because it also will pollute the river. We have done some hygiene activity like helped them to wash their hair, teach them how to brush teeth and more. We also gave them some toothbrush, toothpaste, e.t.c...

Sing Song Session :

During this session, we will have some worship, we will sing a few action song and two worship song. Whenever they sing a song with action, they all will do the action and dance together. You sure will enjoy this moment with the kids. At night, you can have a dance and sing-song party.

Game Session :

Of course, you can prepare a few games for them such as station game, poison ball and more. We usually arrange at least one and a half hour of time for them to have some games time. It can help them to relax their mind at the same time bring some joy to them. At the same time, you also can join them and play along with them to make them feel that you are actually kind and friendly. The game also will draw your relationship closer to them.

We usually travel with 4 Wheel cars to get into the jungle. The Orang Asli were actually kind, on the last day they even helped us out to clean up the whole entire place.
