THE MAIL COMES IN AND THE MAIL GOES OUT - PHYSICAL EXPRESSIONS OF STEEMIAN FRIENDSHIP AND CARE

in #community8 years ago (edited)

Giving and receiving gifts is so cool, and steemians sure know how to do it!

all for free.Recently, I received an incredible package from another steemian, @lakshmi. I've had quite a bit of mail show up from members of the steemit community. From seeds and plants to art and food, even an original novel! In similar manner, I've shipped out a lot to other steemians,

It all pretty much started about 9 months back when I did the First Ever Steemit Seed Giveaway and then started the STEEMIT SEED SWAP. Though seeds aren't all we are swapping and gifting, that may have been the start.

The Gifts From @lakshmi

Recently, when I went to the post office, I found a most interesting package in my PO Box. Here is what I found inside.

First off, I found two excellent packages of seeds. Seeds for both Nasturtiums and Scarlet Runner Beans were inside the package.

If you have never seen the seeds of Scarlet Runner Beans, take a look, as they are very beautiful!

Also inside was an excellent bonus gift of Oregon Coast Agates! Were these hand-picked on the beach by @lakshmi? I'm guessing so. What a wonderful surprise!

This little Box Tree seedling was also inside! What a happy day for my people! Thanks so much @lakshmi! Though this wonderful gift recently came in the mail, a few packages were shipped out today.

The Mail Goes Out

Finally, I got around to shipping @clayboyn his new shirts that I handmade for him. Not only do they feature some original artwork by @papa-pepper, they also have "STEEMIT.COM" painted on them, so @clayboyn can function as a walking billboard for our community every time he wears these shirts! Steem on @clayboyn!

Some months back a made a post featuring some of my rustic Trout artwork. I remember @matthewtiii commenting on how he wanted one, but then he went MIZ for a few months. Now that he is back, I just mailed him one of these as a welcome back gift! Enjoy it @matthewtiii and welcome back man!

I also shipped a package to @sevinwilson. Recently, @sevinwilson made a hot pepper post, so I thought that would bless him with some seeds and a few dried peppers. I mailed dried Ghost Peppers and Trinidad Morugas, both of which should have seeds inside that can still be planted. The dried peppers can be snacked on as is or ground up and added to dishes! Some other seeds that I included were of the Chocolate Ghost Pepper, the Carolina Reaper, and the Peruvian White Habanero. Hopefully there is still enough time to plant these down in Florida and still get a harvest this year. Otherwise, they grow great in plants and can be moved inside for the winter. I've actually had two and three year old plants before. Feel the burn @sevinwilson, feel the burn!

Last, but not least, for my outgoing mail today, I sent a package to @lakshmi. @lakshmi had expressed an interest in some Elderberry cuttings a while back, so I figured that I had better get some out. The Elderberries are no longer dormant, so I included some of the newer green shoots as well as the hard brown stem cuttings. If, for some reason @lakshmi cannot get these to root, I'll mail an established Elderberry plant over. Also, as an added bonus, I threw in a few Red Mulberry tree seedlings, which were purchased with SBD that I had cashed out! Yes, STEEM-POWERED PLANTS people! Thanks @lakshmi, enjoy!

BUILD THIS COMMUNITY!

Online, we can share thoughts, ideas, encouragement, and even STEEM. However, to interact in the physical world takes this community to another level. I am all for building up the steemit community on many levels, and have been active at the Post Office as well as online attempting to do so! Be blessed and steem on!

:) Does it have a return address on it? I found something that seems like it needs to be in pepper world.

There is a return address on the envelope, but you can contact me on chat if you can't read it.

:) I think you'll get a kick out of it.

@shayne

It's great that thanks to Steemit people from different countries can communicate, make friends and exchange gifts.

I've sent some t-shirts internationally to @daveks and @kevinwong already too!

Oh and the snakes you were sending them is the surprise right lol.

Yes, they ARE in for a surprise!

This is just awesome.

I think so too! Thanks.

very nice post papa-pepper. love the t-shirts buddy. Great idea. We should all design our own gear rather than sponsoring corporations.:)

Yes we should! Good point @tonyr.

My mouth is salivating waiting for the peppers @papa-pepper. I think there is enough time to get them in the ground for harvest this year! I will keep them inside.

I can't wait to film the video of me eating the hot pepper! Challenge accepted!

Of course this got resteemed!!

Thanks papa!

Excellent news and glad you are excited. I'm waiting to see what happens when you meet up with that python.

I watched and read through some of your other snake posts earlier today to try and alleviate some of the fears! I think it has worked!

They aren't scared at all! They must have the papa blood in them!!

I guess I could send you some blood if you think it would help...

I might need to make a trip up to see you and get a lesson from the professionals!

Super inspiring and exciting!!! Thanks for community building. This is howwe change the world

Yes it is! You're welcome!
