The more people focus on building friendships instead of followers, the more Steemit will thrive. A question I get asked a lot is, how can I make money on Steemit. Well, if you came here just for the money you came to the wrong place (and you might wake up in the wrong part of town one day and that won't be fun)! lol. When I started I was making pennies and I have had my ups and downs but I remain focused on the people of Steemit not the money of Steemit. I hope this sinks into a few new people's brains or even older people here who just don't get it. Greed, will only take you so far in life, what makes you think it's so different on Steemit?
You see, we have a great range of people on Steemit, from Steemians that can sniff out BS to Steemians that have tremendous talents. So be yourself and be consistent because if you are fake you will get called out and caught. Another important tidbit is to put the money last and focus on building true friendships, remember that it's not about 'YOU' all the time. You need to give respect and be patient to move ahead on Steemit. I have seen so many come and go over the past few months but only the TRUE remain.

Absolutely spot on! @road2wisdom. Actually in any kind of a setup, only the genuine kind seem to last long & make their mark. I am completely with you that it should be all about making friends and not so much about making money. The money part will come on its own accord. My initial foray into steemit was the money aspect, I must admit. Well it certainly was an attraction but once on the platform I am quite drawn with the content & the variety of voices I hear every single day. I have not been active on any other platform so it is not for me to compare. But I like it here!

If it were all about money I would have gotten bored a while ago. There are soooo many talented passionate people here right now, reading through everything is exciting. I'be already made a bunch of friend who I plan on meeting and collaborating with and I've only been here three months. The blockchain is cool and all but the people make this place.
