Before I delve into computer literacy, let us first know what computer is.
A computer is a programmable electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the results of these operations, all under the control of software.
Business moves faster in the age of computers, and business owners are expected to keep up the pace. Email, messaging and other forms of instant communication mean customers and professionals expect a fast response and the ability to share information in a compatible format. It can be challenging to learn computer proficiency, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. This is why every employer is looking forward to hire a computer literate staff.
A NARRATIVE HOW A FRIEND FAILED INTERVIEW.
Once upon a time, there was this beautiful lady, a graduate who is on unemployed went for interview for a position of a secretary. When she got to the venue, the environment just gave her the sense of judgment. She told herself that she has failed because no knowledge of Microsoft office and internet application. This is how she lost the opportunity. But do you need to relax after this? The answer is NO.
Immediately she got home she asked me if I know any computer training centre where she can get trained. And this is how she became a computer literate.
There are lots of opportunities out there for being computer literate.
Advantages of being computer literate in a workforce;
- You will communicate well Within the workplace, you can use instant messaging programs, social media websites or email to communicate about work-related topics
- Efficiency in the discharge of duties if you know how to use excel, word and database applications
- Gives you edge over others when leadership and promotion is being considered.
Lots of advantages are bound, I advise you to get trained today and sky will be your limit.
