WiFi Security
I continue to be amazed by the gap that exists between those who understand technology and typical everyday users. The other day I had someone ask me for help because they could no longer connect to the Drury Inn WiFi network from their house and thought it was a problem with their computer.
Confused by this question, I said "But you don't live by the Drury Inn!?" which in turn frustrated my friend who said "I know! What difference does that make, it was free WiFi and I need it back!" After a short lesson on why he shouldn't be using that network (and that it being gone was a good thing!) it made me realize that more people could probably benefit from a quick refresher on how WiFi works and some simple tips to stay safe.
I created a short video that discusses WiFi in a way that hopefully gets the point across to those who aren't well versed in technical jargon. I hope you find the video informative. Please think about sharing with friends and family who may need some extra help when it comes to technology!

Mac filtering plus WPS.
Thanks for the comment. Mac filtering can be defeated by spoofing the address after a period of monitoring. WPS pins can be defeated through brute force or a pixie dust attack and should be totally disabled. Nothing beats a strong (lengthy, complex) password, except for disabling WiFi maybe!
HolySmoke! Found you on the @resteembot .. i found this post to be exceedingly helpful... upvoted following...
Awesome, thanks! Let me know if there's any topic you'd like to see me discuss.
