in #computing7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemians , this is a continuation of a series of videos i will be doing showcasing the project MIT Self Driving Race car.

In this stage of the series we are currently looking at the Hardware /Software sections .That is how we went about assembling the car and the software's that we needed to get the car up and running. In the last video, we saw how to use a wired controller to use the car .In this Video we show a successful test of a Wireless Controller.

Operating System : Any Linux Implementation would do :D

Software's needed.

  • Install The app jstest-gtk
  • Install Bluetooth Drivers
  • To install Bluetooth Drivers use the following code in the Terminal
    sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth start

This guide is for setting up and using a wireless controller with the Jetson TX2

    1. SSH or boot into GUI on Jetson
    2. Enable Bluetooth
    3. Connect the wireless controller through the bluetooth control panel, make sure to press pairing button on controller
    4. Run jstest-gtk to configure controller axes and buttons
    5. Ensure proper setup by moving joysticks and observing value changes in jstest-gtk

    For Xbox One

    1. Run echo 1 > /sys/module/bluetooth/parameters/disable_ertm to patch critical bug
    2. Pair controller over bluetooth, hold down pair button on controller whilst on the search screen in ubuntu
