Hive Helped Me Grow as a Media Activist and Human Being

in #conspiracylast year (edited)

Hey there Hive community,

When I first joined Hive last year thanks to @mada, I was amazed that there was a decentralized social media platform where people can earn money and share their work without censorship or feed manipulation. I also realized quickly that Hive is home to many integrative and alternative thinkers when it comes to politics, media activism, and conscious living. I felt a sense of belonging almost instantly.

In fact, the writing I've done on Hive was a meaningful launching point for my evolving growth and maturity as a media activist, and overall human being. It was on Hive that I further refined and deepened my understanding of the world we live in, from politics to media activism to spiritual living. Hive also became my safe space to share my progress of my freestyle dancing journey :)

And the Hive community listened and tuned in. I'm so grateful for all the upvotes, comments, and reblogging of my posts. The support was unexpected and empowering. Here are some pieces of what I've produced on Hive:

My time on Hive helped prepare me for my new work at WantToKnow.info, a news information service and educational platform focusing on high-level cover-ups and corruption. We summarize important news stories that go out to thousands of subscribers in a weekly newsletter while also providing comprehensive information on a vast range of issues shaping society: war, propaganda, government and corporate corruption, mind control, UFOs, food corruption, and more.

These topics are often controversial, censored, and challenging to face. Yet we strive to be a trustworthy and balanced resource for those who want to go deeper than the official narratives we're told to believe. Here is the batch of stories that made it into last week's newsletter:

Now, my small team and I just launched exciting new changes to the work we do at WantToKnow! In the past week, we've launched the new look of our website, along with a social media launch on Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook.

Check it out and support our work!

A Call to Work Together for the Greater Good of All

There are many reasons for grief, confusion, and rage right now. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote about these related concerns in his final book: Where Do We Go From Here? Chaos Or Community. He asserted that humankind has the resources and technology to overcome oppression and corruption. With many awakening to the mass deceptions and corruptions, our times call for some restoration of community. Our sense of common good and connection with each other. Paradoxically this also means to pay attention to established interests that gain by confusing and dividing us. To some degree, this means noting what power elites are pushing for, and to correct efforts that serve private gain over the common good (people and environment).

WantToKnow invites the diversity of views (and media sources) to help make sense of these complex times. We also value sharing solutions and building narratives that bring us together for the common good, instead of dividing us. This is aligned with King's vision of a "Beloved Community" that centers the Greek word agape, which he felt was key to the human experience. Instead of it meaning something sentimental or affectionate, agape is the understanding, redeeming goodwill for all. Furthermore, agape is the willingness to go to any length to restore community and meaningful relationships with one another. King felt that this is our best hope for a durable future that can outlast the harms and abuses in our world.

To close, here is King speaking to his hopes for our world:

I refuse to accept the cynical notion that nation after nation must spiral down a militaristic stairway... of destruction. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This faith can give us courage to face the uncertainties of the future. It will give our tired feet new strength as we continue our forward stride towards the city of freedom. When our days become dreary, with low hovering clouds, and our nights become darker than a thousand midnight's we will know that we are living in the creative turmoil of a genuine civilization struggling to be born. —Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
