New Player Killing Builds Runescape

Another rejected article - If you don't get the point of these posts, read my introduction.

Now that several overpowered items have been fixed, like the Serpentine Helmet and the Void range set, this leaves many account builds irrelevant. 75-defense tanks, range tanks, and even defense tanks have been left in the dust thanks to the unexpected update by Jagex. Fortunately, there are still several account builds that are underutilized and may benefit in the new Player vs. Player arena.

Obsidian Armour + Granite Maul Pure

The ideal account stats are: 60 Attack, 60 Defence, 99 Strength, 52 Prayer, and 95 Combat.

Obsidian Armor is considered the new budget-friendly replacement to Bandos Armour with lower requirements. This is why many believe that the Obsidian Armour pure will be the new meta for mid-leveled Bounty Hunter, assuming that Jagex does not patch this armor soon.

The Obsidian Armor adds melee accuracy and strength while negating the accuracy decrease of the Berserker Necklace. Because of this, The Obsidian Sword and the Obsidian Maul will now have a 20% increase in strength bonus. The armor is also nearly on par with Runite Armor, making it a superior option to the typical cookie-cutter 45-defense pure.

Using the sword as the primary, you will be able to hit up to 37 with speeds that are comparable to an Abyssal Whip. Once your opponent is less than 50% health, switch into the Obsidian maul for the potential to hit up to 63. Once the Obsidian Maul lands, quickly switch to the Granite Maul for a special attack of up to 66 (assuming that you hit 33 twice with the special attack).

Barrows Pure (Multiple Attack Styles)

Ideal Account Stats: 75 Attack, 70 Defence, 99 Range, 99 Strength, 99 Magic (optional), 70 Prayer, and 106 combat.

Since the Serpentine Helmet is now useless thanks to the recent update, Barrows pures can make from main contenders in the level 105-110 hybrid combat bracket. This type of build is very dynamic and allows a myriad of equipment combinations. Utilizing the Amulet of the Damned with a full Barrows set will increase the damage output significantly.

For a range and melee hybrid setup, a full set of Karil armour and a full set of Dharok armor may be switched between on demand. Use the Karils set as your primary means of attack. If both you and your enemy reach below 50% health, utilize the Dhoraks armour to hit up to a 70 which likely results in your opponents instant death.

Another option for a range and melee setup is to have a Dhoraks set with only Black Dragonhide armor and a Magic Shortbow as the main DPS weapon. This is a much cheaper option than using a Karils set while only sacrificing a small amout of damage throughput. The goal is to simply wait for your opponents health to get lower than 50% and switch to the axe and platebody for the potential to KO him. Optionally, take a granite maul or Armadyl God-sword for additional opportunities to kill your opponent when he reaches a low level of health.

A fun (but not efficient) setup is to use full set of Ahrims armor with the Ahrim staff and an Amulet of the Dead. This amulet will allow you to automatically cast Ancient Magic spells through the casting options of the staff. Utilizing Blood Barrage and Ice Barrage will annoy helpless players in Bounty Hunter. It would be a wise idea to take an Armadyl God-sword to have the potential of killing players before they teleport away. You may also use the Magic Cape to cast Teleport Block on players prior to switching to the Ancient Spell Book.
