For a moment Tim sat transfixed in the cab still trying to get a hold of himself, all had happened so fast and it almost seem like the apocalypse movie he did watch some night before was now playing right in front of him, “except that a man who looks just like a corpse that have decayed for over a day and half was now right by the taxi pulling roughly and dangerously at the handle trying to get in. A second was rushing towards the vehicle now forcing itself through the cracked window and with a surprising show of strength and agility pulled out the bleeding driver and bit him consuming a handful of flesh just below the neck close to the man’s shoulder. Tim watched as the hope of saving the bleeding driver narrows as the driver close his eyes slowly and fades away. With what he consider an abominable “walking dead” now trying to rip the handle off the car and seeing the second walker still feeding on the cab driver’s remains, he went for the opening where he had earlier dragged the driver out.

He forced his way out and while doing so, his left arm was pierced a little by the shattered glass that reared its head from a hidden corner of the window. He held the arm applying some pressure to reduce loss of blood, and he ran towards the supposedly deserted shopping mall opposite where the vehicle crashed, now he could see a handful of them now running in his direction.

Just before he turned his head, Tim noticed the dead taxi driver rise and was now very much transformed “a copy of what was now rushing towards him, now his suspicions were now confirmed…..”A dead man rose to life” it is strange indeed! He exclaimed. With his assailants catching up with him, he quickened his step………………gunshot could be heard loudly indicating the position of the armed forces fighting viciously to get those walkers off the street and extract the remaining survivors that have not been infected.

Tim on crossing over tried to get to the shopping mall as fast as he could, heard a feminine voice screaming for help as a walker tried to overpower her just around the rear of a deserted range rover car trying to bite off a part of her, “he searched the surrounding for a weapon to defend himself, he saw nothing at first, but just as he approached the lady, he saw lying on the floor a baseball bat which supposedly belongs to a guy in his teenage years now in a pool of blood.

He took it up and without a second thought “bang!!!, it struck the skull wild open and the walker dropped dead on top of the lady which Tim estimated to be in her mid thirties, helped her to her feet and they both rushed towards the shopping mall which is now some few meters ahead. He suddenly stopped midway, handed the baseball bat to the lady and then tore a small piece of cloth bandage his left arm to stop the bleeding. Having done so, he took the baseball bat and with the lady trailing behind, cleared a way amongst a handful walker coming from the direction of the mall at them.

He opened the door and they both went inside.

It was dark inside, they slid halfway the clothings covering the windows to have a clear vision of the inside, It was empty except for the piling of the various clothing materials inside. They watched through the window as those walkers that have since been chasing them gather at the front of the mall trying to pull it down but was futile as they already bolted it from the inside. After about two hours which seem to them like eternity, “the gunshot sound has started reducing and the walkers started retreating one after the other as it was almost nightfall “6.30pm” but what could be heard in the distance now is the honking of a car and sounds from police sirens. Probably it was the sound driving them away or it was the silence maintained inside the shopping mall causing them to retreat Tim couldn’t find a direct answer to it and he murmured something “I guess we find out sooner.

He turned to the lady to make an introduction, I’m Tim Simmons!!! What is your name?...........I’m Kate Cruiser” she responded, It is nice meeting you plus you saved my life, and all he did was letting out a smile.
