Sure, lull yourself into a false sense of accomplishment by praying for someone.
Praying is like masturbation, it only helps the one who prays and does nothing in the real world.
Don't get me wrong. I do think prayer has benefits, just like meditation. But don't be deluded into thinking your thoughts are all it takes to positively effect the world. It requires action too! And in some cases this means letting people decide for themselves when to choose to pull the plug on life!
Also, I don't understand how you can say that god knows what is best and still have the arrogance to pray to him in hopes of convincing him to change his divine plan. You're not making any sense!
