Teuku Muhammad Hasan was the Governor of the First Sumatra Region after Indonesian independence, the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia from 1948 to 1949 in the Emergency Cabinet. In addition he is a freedom fighter and national hero of Indonesia.
