He came to Earth to eat babies, so a very unsavoury character to have as a house guest even if he's chained in the basement.
Klorbloks physically cannot laugh and laughter is the best medicine.
Rick held Blim Blam captive in order to develop a cure for space aids, which no doubt involved experiments on Blim Blam, hence guinea pig.
