Ok, I know I'm late; I've been busy elsewhere on the blockchain.
Anyway, so here's the idea... through the power of magic and science, Gobbos are getting turned into worms, and then are forced to kill each other in military-style battles, for the entertainment of others (in the IBT universe, that would be for the players' entertainment). Players would get an opportunity to "adopt a Gobbo" during enrollment for a tournament. They must opt in for the chance to play. So in the enrollment post, players would be asked for character name, character class, whether or not they want to adopt a Gobbo at a cost of 1 banked life point (to be taken from them at the start of stage 6), and if so, a number from 1-32. One Gobbo per player while supplies last (maximum of 32 per tournament).
The Gobbos-turned-worms do battle in 8 teams of 4 in their own mini-tournament, which will be played out on a video taken of AI gameplay from the Super Nintendo version of the retro game Worms. 1 banked life point is in the prize pool per worm for a total of 32, and if fewer than 32 players opted in during enrollment, ghost players are added to fill out the field.
How the Gobbo-turned-worms tournament plays out:
- First, 2 preliminary matches of 4 teams each. Each worm on the winning teams from these matches each win 2 banked life points, +1 if the worm survived. Each match thus awards 9-12 banked life points depending on the number of survivors.
- Second, a final battle between the two remaining teams. Worms that died in the preliminary round are revived/replaced. The prize pool for the final match is 8-14 banked life points, depending on how many worms survived the preliminary round. (Two teams that completely survived the preliminary round would produce the minimum pool of 8, while two sole survivors from the preliminaries would result in the maximum pool of 14). Each worm on the winning team in this final wins another 2 banked life points, and any leftover points in the pool are split as evenly as possible between the surviving worms.
A player wins banked life points equal to that of the Gobbo-turned-worm that they adopt during enrollment. So it is possible for one lucky player to turn their 1 banked life point entry fee into 11 (if all matches have only one survivor, and the final survivor is the sole survivor in both of their matches). Adopting a Gobbo on the winning team in a preliminary match guarantees a profit for the player who does so, and a minimum profit of +3 if the Gobbo is on the team that wins the mini-tournament.
The Stage 6 post would then be the video of the Gobbo/worm tournament playing out, with final results announced in the comments. STEEM prizes on Stage 6 would be split amongst IBT players who adopted Gobbos/worms on the winning team.
I've already recorded a video, and will try to upload it to Dlive in the next day or two to show an example of how this new mini-game idea would play out.
