set chronologically in the Star Trek universe before Deep Space 9 and Voyager. Although there is a little bit of an overlap in the last 2 seasons of Next Generation. It is set about 70 years after the original series on a newer starship Enterprise. It’s said to be the best of all the series. There are 4 Next Generation movies. Don’t watch the last of those 4 until after you finish Voyager.
