Hey guys, so I'm really in need of this info right now and google seems to be of no help.
I need you to tell me if you know of any war that was won by a siege. A siege in this context is when an surrounds the enemy's city or fortress till they are forced to surrender from hunger.
So here's the catch: Not just any siege, but a siege where the water or food supply to the enemy town was cut off.
I'd really appreciate any help with this, and to show that, I've added a 2 SBD BOUNTY on this post for anyone who can provide relevant information concerning this.

From what I remember from history lessons..Alexander the Great's army successfully besieged many powerful cities during his conquests. Two of his most impressive achievements in siegecraft took place in the Siege of Tyre and the Siege of the Sogdian Rock.
I hope this information will help you to find the answer.
His engineers team built a causeway that was originally about 50-60m wide and reached the range of his torsion-powered artillery. Meanwhile his soldiers pushed siege towers housing stone throwers and light catapults to bomb the city walls.

This was of help, although the siege did not involve blocking water supply to the city under siege

Try to check the story of the siege by the Muslims against a Jewish tribe of Medina violating a treaty so that they are besieged by the Muslim army until finally causing the Jewish tribe to surrender, maybe this is what you are looking for ....
This was a siege yes; although it did not involve blocking water or food supply to the city under siege.
