Good old Handbrake! Love it.
I just learned about a semi-professional video editing software called Davinci Reslove. My operating system (Win. 7) may not be able to run it (not within specs.) but I may try it anyway and see if it will even run on my machine once I do a complete back-up of my hard drive. There is a simpler software called VSDC. Both are free to use. I've used VSDC and you need to be real careful about which PART of the video you are working with since editing happens on pop-up windows and if you are not careful about where you are, you can end up putting a title over the entire video when you think you are working with a single scene. Other than that, its pretty intuitive and not too complicated; unlike Davinci Resolve, which looks extremely complicated because of all it is capable of doing. Because I'm running Win. 7, I'm actually still using an old version of Windows Movie Maker, which is really simple to use, but also quite limiting in what you can do with it.

Cool, I'll have to give both of them a look. Thanks for the info!
My pleasure. I enjoy sharing.
