This post is to increase the reward pool for the mini contest based on my newest tutorial. The current reward is 1 SBD. You can check the main post
The contest is to follow this tutorial
There are many ways to draw I just shared how I usually do it and it's a more simple way for those new to learning to draw :)
If you're a more experienced artist and do some steps differently please share them with us and if possible why you prefer your way.
The liquid sbd from this post will be added to the reward pool for the main winner, up to 5sbd.
After 5sbd we will have a second winner also up to 5sbd and so on.
The winners will be picked randomly to give everyone a chance, regardless of their drawing skills. There is no skill or age limit for entering the challenge.
Update: Thank you @enternamehere for adding 10SBD to the reward pool!!!
These rewards will be divided between 3 winners: 5 SBD- 3 SBD- 2 SBD!
- Winner 5 SBD (+ 1SBD from me and liquid SBD from this post)
- Winner 3 SBD
- WInner 2 SBD
@enternamehere is a very creative artist (with very calming posts) that I highly recommend to check out!
Deadline: Payout of this post
For every 15 entries I will pick a mini winner with a 0.5 sbd consolation prize.
The rules are simple: follow the steps in this tutorial post and share your results in the comments and/or the link to your post. You may use different materials even digital, but you must follow the steps and do it all freehand (no helping tools).
I highly suggest for you to make a post to earn something for your effort, if you don't win the contest. I might feature you and your work in a post.
You can use the tag #tutorialpractice, but it's not a requirement. You don't have to resteem, upvote or mention the contest, but thank you if you do!
The point of this mini contest is to motivate those who want to draw, to stop procrastinating and have some fun together! :D
Thank you for your support!!
@kristyglas, would you mind if I send you SBD to add to the reward pool for your contest? I'd like to show my support and encourage more steemians to join. ☺
Thank you so much!! Just tell me how much and I'll edit the 2 posts to add that.
You can send the reward to the winner yourself once I announce them and I'll let you know. (As this is usually how it's done in contests) :D
Sweet, thank you for letting me in on that. I like supporting others' projects, I'll bear this in mind moving forward!
I'll add 10 SBD to the pool.
I would also like to state that I am not eligible to win any SBD from any entry to this contest! ☺
Wow, that is extremely generous of you! Would you like all to go to the first place or to divide it somehow?
Thank you so much!
Let's divide it between the first 3 winners to make things simple. Split 5-3-2 from first place to third.
Happy to contribute!
Awesome, I added it :D
(Thought I replied before haha)
I announced the Bird tutorial contest winners here: https://steemit.com/contest/@kristyglas/bird-tutorial-contest-winners
:D
My Hand drawn Birdie using a pencil entry, I hope you liked it.
It's great thank you for participating :D
I made an entry, is not the best but it's something :P
Its very cute hehe (I think it's the eyes) :D
I can see you had a bit trouble with circles/ head particularly. I highly suggest you try the exercise I suggested previously. You just put 2 paralel lines on a canvas and fill the row with circles barely touching the linez ^^ After a month of just doing it occassionally, the difference was huge for me!
Sorry just saw you post and your circles were perfect xD haha. Just a style choice ^^
hahaha well I could always go better with circles :D! but yes, even though I wasn't intending to go with cartoon style, it always ends up like that. It's very difficult to get the realism in my art, giving that much focus to details, lines, shadows..... it's hard, that's why the simplistic lines are always easier for me :P... Still I liked your tutorial and contest, it does for sure help to improve :D

I'm sorry my camera is not good, but some how I take some shots of steps by step process tutorial. I hope you like it.
This is my technique to how to draw bird or your reference.

Cool work! However for me to accept your entry (and resteem) you also have to do the first 3 steps of this tutorial: https://steemit.com/art/@kristyglas/little-bird-drawing-tutorial-with-steps . Just add your results to the post or comments :)
There are still 12 hours left till the end of the contest, good luck! :D
It's ok if you're a little late :) I'll post winners tomorrow as soon as I can.
I'm done.
Hey :)
There is a new tutorial contest. I hope you can join ^^
https://steemit.com/tutorialpractice/@kristyglas/continuous-line-drawing-tutorial-and-contest-6-sbd-prize-pool
I'm not sure this is what you were after but in the spirit of participation, I'll share it with you anyway.
Personally I find interpretation to be a little more interesting than technique :)
Good luck everyone!
Thank you for trying xD :D
How many days before it's end this contest?
According to the payout day of this post: 3 but possibly a bit less days :)
I try to submit my entry as fast as i can.
Great idea - will resteem x
Thank you! Will you also participate?
No, but thanks anyway. Hope it goes very well :)
Great idea mate. I will definitly work out something this weekend :)
Sweet can't wait to see :D
I will try to draw using the original reference material. I am very bad at drawing specially when i draw looking at another drawing. I think it will be easy for me to draw with original source material.
The tutorial is here: https://steemit.com/art/@kristyglas/little-bird-drawing-tutorial-with-steps
:) I'll try to make more steps next time. Good luck! Looking forward to your work ^^
Oh no, what if I just drew it, but not exactly following the steps?
Thanks to this challenge I got to draw again. :)
https://steemit.com/art/@artgirl/oh-it-s-a-bird
Well I will accept yoir entry if you also do the first 3 steps of the tutorial and add that at the end of your post ( or at least in the comments) :)
You can do it quick and rough.
Trust me, doing construction sketch will make drawing so much easier. Fell free to let me know if you disagree and why, after you try it :D
Yeah I did say at the end of my entry that it is best to use guidelines. haha.
When I draw I never do guidelines unless it is for professional work. :) If it's just for fun and such, no need for guidelines for me. I can just draw 'em like I see 'em. Doesn't hurt anyone if I don't. Lol. It's just how I do things.
For me, guidelines are better if you need accuracy in drawing. That's tested and proven and always effective to use anytime. :)
I know, but I feel that this way it's fair to the other contestants :)
Also I'm not really strict this time, because I initially only had 1 SBD reward pool when I set the rules and there are still very few entries. ^^
Yeah, that's right. Happy to have done a guideline version of the bird for this contest.
Ok, done and edited! :D Hope to win something. Haha~
Thank you! I understand haha, thanks to @enternamehere we have awesome rewards :D And there will be at least one more contest in the near future ^^ thanks to @tonyr.
Yes. Thanks to our sponsors and you too for hosting this contest. Haha~
i like https://steemit.com/art/@zafar82/in-contest
I will try to participate...but I am a super procrastinator when it comes to drawing. I resteemed in the meantime, that's a first step :)
Thank you for resteem :D I hope you find some time to join ^^
