Sort:

One is a winner when one feels like a winner, no matter of the amount of possesions.

Spot on I reckon.

A winner is the person that lives life on their own terms regardless of the judgement of others. Someone who has conviction and belief in themselves and stands solid in their truth and integrity. A person who has empathy for, and generously without expectation, adds value to others.

If your father and brother taught you that then I would say you learned what you needed to learn sista!

My mom went through a similar struggle in her life so I can really relate to you in that way. I really appreciate this authentic and vulnerable post.

No wonder you're so bright ;-)

Voted!

Awwwh, thanks.

I think I should enjoy a chat with your Mum.

:)

Happy weekending.

Sad story but very beautiful imagery. Thanks for sharing and re-sharing.

Sad but kinda liberating.

Thanks for your support.

I commented on your actual post as well by the way.
Wonderful post, I completely agree with you, just because one is rich doesn't mean that person is sucessful. According to me a person is sucessful if he or she is happy with where they are in life, such people are definitely winners.

I feel for you. My parents were lucky enough to be cursed with 2 children who failed to meet their expectations which has forced them to grow as people.

As we are two very different kinds of failures, neither of which fit textbook definitions of failure and both of which are quite happy, they’ve had to explore many different ideas of what success means and see, to be slowly coming around. They sure did a lot of damage despite really caring, when we were young though.

My Father still believes that his way is the only way!

I like the sound of your folks.
