RE: 100% SBD Give-Away 0002

Thank you @happyme and @sykochica for the opportunity in this contest.

Steemit was introduced to me recently by a friend I have known my whole life @onlyoneman. At first I didn't feel like it was a right fit for me. I am generally not a fan of social networks like facebook and twitter. I have had a facebook account for years but have only posted once and commented like twice. There are too many people on these sites just looking to bring others down. After looking into Steemit some I seen I was wrong.

There are so many people on here that are just looking to help everyone else out. People like @papa-pepper who recently gave 500 steem, I believe, to a member of the community who was having financial trouble from health issues. People like @happyme who create contests like this to enable newbies like myself to become more active in the community. These are just a few examples of a community with a high portion of people like them.

I was talking with @onlyoneman earlier today about corruption in the world today. Most places you go and platforms you look at, corruption is the first thing you see. Steemit is the opposite. I am sure there is some corruption here but it isn't the more prevalent aspect of the community. The first thing I witnessed was a community working together to bring others up, to share information and ideas. In my opinion this is the ideal community. A community that allows people like me to meet and connect with others in the public realm that I normally would not have on other platforms. And there is also the money, money is nice too.

Hello Lokii,

For some reason your comments really resonated with me. I'll have to look at your blog page and see what kinds of things you post about.

Thanks for participating in my contest!
