My Window To The Digital World

Gone are the days when mobile phones were just for calls and texts messages. Today, one can do virtually anything with a smartphone.

I, for one, have been an avid lover of gadgets, phones particularly.

I can still remember my very first device, Samsung r220.

After that comes the series of Nokia devices. Over time, I think I've used more than 6 or 7 different Nokia phone models!

Now, it's the era of smartphones. Talk about Android and ios!

Till date, the battle for supremacy still rages between the two.
But I won't be talking about that today, you can check out my post about it here: https://steemit.com/technology/@mapens/android-or-ios

Being a student and given the meagre resources at my disposal, getting a high end smartphone like an iPhone or a Samsung can effectively be classified as a fantasy, so I make do with the mid-end but quite effective smartphones available in the market.

For a while now, I've been on the infinix train. Am currently using the Infinix hot 4 pro which is my second infinix device in the last 3 years.

Here's a quick rundown on the specifications:

  • 5.5-inch Touch Display, 720 x 1280 pixels (267ppi)

  • 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 CPU with 2GB RAM

  • Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)

  • 16GB Storage with support for memory card up to 128GB

  • 13MP Rear Camera and 5MP Front Camera

  • 4G LTE

  • Fingerprint Sensor (Rear)

  • 4000 mAh Battery with Fast Charging

I've been using this device for about 7 months and regardless of the fact that it's not the best smartphone out there, it's been quite efficient for me.

Now what kinda stuff do I do with my phone?
Virtually anything and everything!

First off, am a gamer. I've got about 7 games installed on this device.

Then I've got about 12 or more different web browsers installed too, cos I do a lot of web surfing for a million different purposes. Infact, I spend the better part of my day online. (Money has to be made, you know...)

Then you've got other apps like 4 or 5 different messenger and chat apps, media apps, shopping apps, video streaming apps, social network apps and lots more!

The Infinix Hot 4 supports Bluetooth 4.1 and two micro SIMs.
It also offers the much needed 4G LTE, which supports most of the 4G LTE Networks bands provided by most of the leading mobile operators in my country Nigeria. Hence, increased internet speed and connectivity is one of the upsides.

In a nutshell, this device has been very efficient in handling things for me (though it gets scary hot sometimes 😁.)
I can easily switch between apps when necessary.
Then it's got a wonderful camera, which is further accentuated by a nice custom camera app called You cam perfect.
The fingerprint sensor makes unlocking the device smooth and easy (the days of pattern lock are gone!)

So all in all, my smartphone has been my link to the digital world. I make use of it a hundred times more than I make use of my laptop.

Am hoping to make an upgrade soonest (hopefully, I'll make enough sbd to facilitate that! 😉), but till then, it's me and my infinix!

Cheers!

I'm still me, #mapens
