@apolymask I was pretty sure if I did write the story there and then I probably would not have had the energy to do it :p
It was a great first season, but the process of learning and accommodating all the changes also led to some 'fatigue'. Luckily there were so many great people that stepped in and helped to keep things going (too many to name here).
This is still the best thing that I have seen happen on Steemit in my 11 months here, and because so much of the time and effort has gone to things behind the scenes, sometimes it is not reflected in the various rounds.
I think I have mentioned that I am more than happy to see the round extended and that people be allowed to submit entries. We'll see if there are some lessons learnt from season 1 that will make season 2 even better!
Also, I'd love to know if there will be some representation at Steemfest to tell the IFC story :)
This comment really brightened my day and outlook a bit. :) Glad to hear you've appreciated the IFC, I have as well! Thanks for sharing that with me. I've heard quite a few others say similar, even yourself in the past if I remember correctly.. But it was a really good reminder either way and to reflect on that comment.. Just that one comment right there.. Makes it all worth it to me.
That even one person can say something like that.. Is very humbling and important to me.
I tend to agree with your other points as well. I think there are some good reasons for such, and it shouldn't be a reflection of or something that distorts everything else that has been so incredibly positive.
And at this rate it looks like you will probably get the prize as everyone is voting for you to get it, but.. Perhaps those of us who were working on entries can battle for the second and third place prizes. Unless of course we get numerous more people in here voting for an extension.. But.. I sort of doubt we'll get enough votes to make the difference.
In regards to steemfest.. I wish! I can't afford to go and I don't know if anyone in the IFC is going.. That would be awesome though! I wish! Maybe next year, or eventually if we start making enough money, I think perhaps if we get enough attention.. Some day, we could even have IFC meetups of our own! We've talked about that before a few times earlier in the season. But.. No.. Not yet. Don't have the funds myself, and.. I don't think anyone in the IFC is going but maybe I should make a post sometime to ask.

I don't remember where it was/is but I would be happy to support someone in the IFC who lives the closest to the event and is willing to go! I think that should be the ultimate prize of IFC season 2, to be able to go to Steemfest and tell our story :)
