Hey @omitaylor
Thanks for putting up the raffle.
Just a quick tip: I noticed you used the Google link shortener to 'hide' your affiliate links.
Please don't do that. When I first started here, I remember the whales had some campaign against shortening links, but other than that, during these times when phishing scams are all over SteemIt, link transparency is super important!
I'd be resteeming on behalf of the Play 4 A Newbie Challenge, but because I have my own little phishing protection campaign going on, I can't justify exposing people to shortened links. Hope you get what I mean...
I feel I sort of have to use some kind of click analytics, because in a previous contest someone lied. I was thinking of using steem.link but I can't get in touch with the author. :( For google, you can see the reference link by adding a + behind the google link. I believe it's the same with bitly. I will edit the article so people can see the analytics pages. It's not used for hiding, its for tracking. I put a disclaimer at the bottom.
For instance: https://goo.gl/5JA9KD+ will show you the analytics page and original url.
Also, thank you. I totally understand if you can't participate in the future or if you would be against it if I choose to use analytics within my posts. I would never endanger anyone with my links, but I feel like protecting the integrity of certain activities requires them at times. I will always disclaim if use a gateway in the footer and look into what my options are. Also, it's good to educate people that link shorteners aren't evil, it's how they are used and by whom that may be evil. I don't know where I stand on where I should compensate for the evil or ignorance of others when it concerns technology, and corner myself for the sake of others to the advantage of those whom will take that advantage anyway. I value your feedback.
You are absolutely right, @omitaylor.
I can completely understand about wanting to have a link tracking system in place - I actually had to go cold turkey when I started on SteemIt, because at that point in time (last November or so) the whales were actively going against shortened links.
I still miss my stats every once in a while :0)
It is true that you are not responsible for the ignorance of others.
So, I’ll take note of this and list it on my ‘what to educate people about’ (which is a very long list). And I’ll start by sharing your other post about protecting your ass...assets, which I think is a very informative post.
I haven’t checked yet, but I hope you did submit it to my contest. :0)
Thanks @simplymike. I did submit it to the contest. Aint afraid to say I'm trying to power up a bit because I'm really tired of having a penny vote exhausted so quickly and bandwidth issues. And I'm not trying to buy more Steem on binance and pull it in. I promised myself I would see where my initial $100 went by the end of the year and decide after that. Driving me insane though hahaha... ughhh... Lucky right now I'm borrowing some delegated SP but it won't last. So I'm entering, and hopefully, have time to enter others.
Entering contests is a good way to earn some more Steem and power up. I’m one of the fortunate ones who have been able to use the profits I made in crypto to buy myself some Steem, so I never had to deal with bandwidth issues.
I just found myself complaining my upvote was ‘only’ worth $0.14. The moment I wrote down that sentence, I realized I had nothing to complain about, so I ‘punished’ myself for wining by delegating some SP to a good cause :0)
Haha.. that's a good way to level cleanse the karma haha
Btw, I’m not sure how good you are in ‘selling yourself’, lol, but I just came across a delegation contest. It’s only for a week, but it might be worth a try:

I'ma steem hoe. I'm on it. LOL
