Hi Everyone,

PC_12_THUMBA.jpg

I would like to congratulate @richard78624 for being the first person and only person to provide all the correct answers. I will be sending you your winnings shortly.

I would also like to thank all other participants in the contest for their time and effort. I previously named all participants but the list of participants has grown incredibly long. The popularity of this contest has definitely far exceeded my expectations.

So here are the answers with explanations.

I will be starting another puzzle contest in a few days.

I would also link to congratulate @sazih for being the first person to provide the two correct answers to my ‘Indifference Curve’ video. You win 1 SBD. @freedomno1 provided some interesting logic behind his answers and received a larger upvote.

I also received some good engaging comments from @reviesociology, @donaldpete, @doughtaker, @nicolexu1337, @cyberwarrior, and @josediccus. So I have upvoted these comments. It is great to see people actively getting involved with my material. I will be on the lookout for more interesting and engaging comments.

Thanks as always for the consistent and challenging mental floss aka mind teasers :)

Congrats I say to the winner, and I am also glad to be here

First of all: Very nice puzzle! I liked it a lot because it was challenging and fun.
I have two problems with question number tree:

  1. There are two many possibilities. You could say Mary is the odd one because she is a girl and you could also say John is the odd one cuz he doesn't have an "a" in his name.
  2. My bigger problem is that it is impossible to solve that question if you don't know Supernatural and you don't want to google the names.

My solution to Q2 A was 0. Looking back your solution makes much more sence but I want to share my logic with you.

That is quite an interesting solution. Maybe I could use that type of logic in a future puzzle.

Yeah, I admit Question 3 was not great from that aspect. I understand what you mean by John but Sam could also be a girl's name. I think in future I will ask for the logic as part of the question so that I can accept more answers.

i ve just folllowing following you. you can following me and my other friends as @welyam

That is difficult to me

You should go back and look over the answers to all 12 puzzle contests. It will help you for future puzzles.

Congratulations @richard78624 -- you are a genius. Anyway, I would be looking forward to your new puzzles, I thought these exercises this meat inside my cranium.

That's the general idea. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

Upvote and resteem

Any promotion helps, thanks.

You are welcome

That is a tough puzzle. Will wait for your next contest. More power to you. And congrats to the winner.

Most likely 2 days from now.

Its tough
Resteem done

Thanks, I also look forward to your future participation.

@spectrumecons
I am still searching whats logic behind 4th answer... 😑

Those that search shall find.

All the names have an 'a' in them but John doesn't, that's why I answered John.
Anyways love the contests..
Waiting for the next one

That makes sense. I need to ask for explanations next time.

Wouldn't that be problimatic? People could just create own answeres by putting the best explanations together. In this quiz most people (including me) where just copying the 4th answer from other people. We couldn't know if it was right or wrong because there was no explanation. I think with an explanation there would be even more copying from the comments and less people who try to find the answer themselves.

I was thinking for just spot the difference questions that might have multiple answers. Very few of my questions have more than one possible answer. I noticed everyone copied the wrong answer for Question 4. Copying is a bad strategy because if it is correct then the person you copied from has most likely already won the contest unless they made a mistake on a question you know the answer too then I see some merit. If they got it wrong so have you and you still don't win.

What makes you think everyone was copying question 4? The answer that most people were giving should be perfectly valid, and is the answer that I came to independently: the sum of each row is 5 more than the sum of the preceding row.

The vast majority of people arrived at the same answer. It seems highly likely that they were coping. For your solution to work requires a negative number which is a little inconsistent with the other numbers. Saying that, there is certainly some logic to those numbers.

so dificult

Congratulation to @richard78624.
It is really tough to get the answer. You done it, hats off to you. Really amazing.

Hey, your contest looks interesting, although in the first one I solved it, the others if it's true that I lose :(
