With that said this week we will test out using level 55 as the max reputation score. I think this will open up the options for who is featured and still keep it at a point that we are helping those who need a boost.
Now with this increased level I will ask that you all try and target posts which aren't earning the rewards they deserve. Not trying to be mean to those who earn $20+ a post, but they aren't who we are trying to help. Now if a post happens to get picked up by Curie or something that is different, but if each time someone posts they are earning a good amount skip them please.

I kept wondering why you weren't posting this week's contest and then ginabot notified me of a mention in a comment here :) I found out she was down for a bit, so hopefully I haven't missed anymore!
I like that you made the cutoff of 55 reputation and that you're only upvoting entries regarding steem-bounty (that might not be new; I may have missed it before :)
I loved last weeks' entries and looking forward to this. 15 weeks and holding!!
GINA was sleeping on the job...can't even count on a bot to work 24/7 these days.
Think 55 is a good number to help open things up a little and increase the quality we see. And I've been doing that for the Bounty for a while now, but I actually also upvote the judges and sponsors comments. They deserve a little something too.
That's why I said that about the bounty because I'd noticed that you did upvote. Thank you for that 😂 I think 55 is good. There were a lot of good entries that came out of last weeks and I'm assuming the reputation change was a big part of it. We'll just have to wait and see what this week brings now.

I like the change. So many fresh newbies are coming in starting at 41 already in less than 2 weeks (CRAZY). I think upping the Rep cap will definitely broaden the field a bit more for everyone. Really excited to see what's in store for us this week.
The first few levels are very easy to fly past. One single post getting a few votes from higher rep people can boost you fast. Once you get around level 45 it starts to slow and then at around 55 it becomes a crawl.
I've noticed LOL. I finally hit 48 at 206 days. I earned it though and that makes me feel good. I knew this was not going to be easy. I enjoy what I do and I think that is what matters most.
I think it is an exponential measure and not linear.

I agree. I had to change my thinking a bit and look at growth differently. It's kind of like losing weight. If you lose inches it's still success :D

That's not very good news. I just hit 45. @tryskele I agree raising the rep cap was a great idea. I am just beginning to go through some of the entries. I never realized so many are reaching the 50+ rep and still not hitting a full 1.00 in votes. Some how I had in in my head that the 50+ folks had it all figured out. I hope @pifc can help bring more attention their way. You just don't get that high without being here and already putting in the time, paying some dues.
I got to rep 50 yesterday on my day 150 and I am just having a clue about how to earn more for each post organically - not using bid-bots. However, it is necessary to use other means such as SBI or @minnowbooster to help increase the earning per post.
My initiative (although not referenced here as to not create any problems with anyone) is certainly a start for newbies to start earning something organically. Y'All are invited to look or join.

What is a bounty exactly?
A bounty is money sent to a post to be distributed to the users commenting on it. It provides a way to reward users directly and works in addition to the steem/sbd they receive from the blockchain. It works independently of SteemPower.
You create a bounty by sending any amount of sbd/steem to @steem-bounty together with a post-url in the memo.
How can I earn a bounty Users are then competing for the bounty by writing their answers to the post in comments that will achieve upvotes from the community and especially the bounty creator. The money of the bounty gets distributed to all top level comments of the post at the same time when the post is paid out (7 Days after it was written). How much everyone gets depends on the votes the comments received. The sender of the bounties votes are weighted higher so that she decideds where 80% of the bounty money goes and all other votes determine the rest.@steem-bounty does all of this for you automatically. You can use this service to automatically pay out a challenge, ask a hard question or simply to reward the people that interact with you.

Week 17 just ended, but the next one will launch in about 30 hours.
It will be run on the @pifc account next week so look for it there.
The entire concept is to create a curation post that features 2 steemians who are level 55 or below. You pick a great post and then link to it from your entry post. You then leave a comment on the current weeks contest post linking to your entry. Everyone will be visited by at least myself and 2 other judges, plus there are multiple other people who visit the entries each week and vote on them. It's a great way to meet new people which is critical to long term success on steemit.
While you will earn some from the entry just look at it as giving to some people who aren't earning what they deserve for great posts. More you give the more that tends to come back to you.
