Greetings all the contestants and audience!
Soon the very first Episode of DocumentZ will begin and I thought that as Head Writer, the waver behind the scenes, that I would put together this post before we begin.
Before everyone posts a whole lot of different things and pours their creative minds into the project, it is essential that we have a clear view on the guidelines.
Let us start from the beginning.
Structure of DocumentZ: An interactive writing contest.
The Season
The competition is laid out in Seasons, the winner of each season will receive a “Grand Prize” which will be a major stake of the competition prize pool.
In our humble beginnings, DocumentZ has a prize pool of 11.5 STEEM, the grand prize is 44% of this, taking the lion’s share of 5.06STEEM. We hope to bring a larger prize pool in the future and it is YOU, the contestants and the audience that can ensure that growth happens! Your support of votes and re-steems will make it happen.
Each Season is divided into 5 Episodes. An Episode is a part of the contest where the contestants will each take part and write a short part of the story. These parts are then judged and one of the Contestant Episodes will be chosen as the winner, earning them an “Episode Prize”. This amount is 5 x 10% of the total prize pool. So that is 5 chances of earning 1,15 STEEM in Season 1. Again, a progressively higher amount is to be earned for these Episode winning.
Episodes
Every time it is time for a new Episode there will be a Prompt. The first one will be the Character’s first scene that leads up to a point where the Contestants will have to carry on.
Each one of the Contestants post their prompts. These will be scored according to a variety of factors, but we will also be taking into account your writing level.
From among these Entries a winner is selected and they earn the Episode Prize!
Not only that but the story that was written in that Entry becomes part of the story and the Prompt for the new episode is written from that point onwards. Everyone will need to then know what happened in Prompt 1, the Entry Winner for Episode 1 and Prompt 2 and then write a new Episode Entry!
Again a Contestant Entry, quite possibly someone completely different than the first Episode Winner. The story then adds the new Episode Winner’s story to the DocumentZ story and adds to the canon.
Definition of canon: In fiction, canon is the material accepted as officially part of the story in the fictional universe of that story.
Season Conclusion
Each Episode Entry will be allocated an amount of points, whether you win an Episode entry or not, there will be points allocated to each and all of the Contestant points will be added up in order to decide who the winner of the Season 1 Grand Prize will be!
Yours faithfully,
@zakludick
