RE: Is Cooking A Science?

in #cooking6 years ago (edited)

Do I always have to post STEM content? Or can I blog about what ever I want as well? Will you, my reader get angry? Or will you view what you like and ignore the other stuff? Things I often wonder.

Should I keep using the @justtryme90 username? Or should I move on to a different name, one which has a less "confrontational" connotation? Leaving this one to just be my trailing "orca" account?

As a respected STEM writer, I think you should get another account for writing things of this nature and other non-STEM stuffs. I have always associated this handle with pure STEM contents and I believe there are others in the same page with me.

@eurogee

I think you have a point. @justtryme90 I go with @euroge's suggestion; get another account like @lukestoke did for creating contents that do not fall in line with with purpose of his primary account.

Hi my dear @eurogee :)

Your reply to @justtryme90's query interested me very much. It makes me think that we might have two kinds of followers out there: The ones that follow 'us' as individuals and all we have to offer. And the ones that follow purely 'our content'. Do you think because we are members of a science community we tend to focus more on the content than on the individual behind it? I wonder ... 😊

I wish you a wonderful day.
Ps: guess what? I am planning that weekend break 😉

Lols I definitely believe so. We have two types of followers: for our content and our personality. But while that's true, I am of the opinion one should be very popular before creating another account.

You really need the rest Abigail🙌. It pays. All the best my dear.

@eurogee

My question was more about shuting down @justtryme90 all together. :)

I don't like the handle. It is a representation of me when I was 12, and I've kept using it for far too long.

My handle is basically my AOL screen name from 15 years ago so I feel you on having a handle that doesn't really represent who you are on Steemit.

Also, post whatever you want on this account. It's not like you're forcing SteemSTEM members to read your non-science work.

Coincidentally this was my AIM name when I was 12 :D

You risk losing your valuable followers. I don't endorse that. My take.

I can easily get new followers :)

"shuting down @justtryme90 all together"

NEVER!!!!
@justtryme90 is a legend username!!!!!

Someone once told me ... "You should do what you want
It's your blog "
Not sure if you know this individual....

It's such a lousy username. Getting tired of people telling me they are intimidated by it. :/

Nope you shouldn't shut down @justtryme90, that's the one we know :D.

But as for posting; it's your blog, and it is absolutely your prerogative to post any content of your choice
