So a lot of people wonder what my obsession with the Panini press is and why I love it so much.
Well it’s because they are just that awesome and once you press, your life is never the same.
I’ve jotted down a few fun facts about the Panini press that most people had no idea about so I thought it would be fun to share.
ON TO THE FACTS
- The Panini press has been around for generations. It was rumored that King Tut used to heat up stones and press his stegosaurus sandwiches back in the 1800’s.
I’m not a historian, my friend Carl told me this and he has some credibility. While I hate him and can’t stand over half the stuff he does, there is no denying that he got an “A” in history class in high school so he knows his stuff.
That’s pretty impressive.
- Did you know that pressing your food is actually better for your health because the press will condense whatever it is you are making. This makes it easier for the large intestine to process and digest because the minerals and enzymes calibrate with the belly better.
I’m not a doctor by any means, but it is basic math.
The smaller and more condensed the food is, the easier it is to break down because it takes less work.
- Panini is actually an acronym for Pressing is Awesome! Never ingest Non-pressed Items!
- It was rumored that Thomas Edison invented electricity so he could use a Panini press.
He was tired of heating up pans with a fire and smushing his sandwiches between them.
He wanted to find a quicker way to cook his sandwiches.
I’ve heard this in other internet forums but still need to check with Carl to make sure it checks out.
But when you say it out loud, it makes a lot of sense.
- Panera bread wanted to be called “Panini bread” but Panini bread is in the public domain and cannot be trademarked.
Imagine how much more business they would have obtained had the name of their restaurant been called “Panini Bread”.
They would be rich.
- Eating pressed foods will reduce stress by 85% because of the happiness eating a nice pressed sandwich brings.
This is a no brainier but sometimes people need to see things on the internet before they believe them.
90% of the stuff on the internet is true from what I understand.
Again, I didn’t do very well in high school and never took a computer science class so I can’t exactly back this up.
But the other facts are all true and if this isn’t, it would mean that about 85% of this article is true backing up the point I’m trying to make.
- Panini’s are not safe for babies!
The drug and food administration has determined that a baby’s development isn’t advanced till about the age of three to enjoy a Panini sandwich.
If you try to feed a baby a Panini there is a chance their taste buds will not properly develop because they will expect all food to be that awesome.
This will lead to extreme anorexia when they get older, and it’s not because they think they are fat, but rather that food just doesn’t satisfy them because their brain was taught at a young age that everything is pressed.
YOU CAN’T DENY THE FACTS
This is just the tip of the iceberg and there are tons of other fun facts that you may be unaware of.
Perhaps later in the future I will break down a few other facts to further educate you on the amazing wonders of the Panini press.

So I've never heard of this press.. But I was eating a salad as I listen to your story, and it led me to squeeze my salad between my fingertips.
Believe it or not, the salad did taste better. I'm looking forward to the digestive steps you described!
Imagine if I just had one of the machines. Have you tried to press salad?
Thanks, yes for some reason the process makes almost anything taste much better! We have tried to press salad with mixed results. We will try to get an article with that process detailed out. The digestive parts are just kinda common sense. My sometimes friend, Carl, is really good at explaining that part a little better. I will see if he wants to write more about it. You can get one of the machines on Amazon. I'd be happy to give you an affiliate link to the one we use :)

yes, this checks out as the truth! Well done! In a world filled with these bloggers who think they know it all, it's refreshing to see a humble poster just talking his passion
I will do it !
