Exactly the kind of meal that I would make around here. Just pulled up a big fennel from the garden. It's one of my favourite vegetables both raw in salads or as part of us do as you say. You can use the stalks as well which is awesome full stop and I absolutely love roast fennel with roast potatoes. Like your sister my man can't eat onion either but he can eat spring onion tops and chives of which I have grown An Abundance of in the garden . I usually cook my onions separately when I have a craving for them.

I'm so envious that you have some right in the garden! I can't recall if we have tried growing any yet in our own garden, but I can often get it from the local farmers market. I love it multiple ways, as well, but I think roasted may just be my favorite.
