Copyrighting is an extremely tedious and complicated process, and it's not for little guys; it's for big guys. Find me one small artist who has patented anything, lol, or been to court to defend someone copying and pasting their artwork online. Imagine you make an invention, and while you start trying to scale up for production, some big-ass company just scales it like 100x faster and 100x better, and you never get to release what you have because you don't have the money. You're just screwed. Nothing you can do.
That's how inventions work 99% of the time. They have to figure it out. You don't have to help them. They have to figure out every single part of your invention and then make machines that can make it, then make a factory that can make it. That can literally take years. Depending on the kind of thing you invent, it might take decades. It depends on how much you share, and it's already too late; everyone knows you made it first, and you've already sold plenty. Even with a few months, that remains true; you'd have enormous amounts of investments from people who want your help to make it, and you could even sell the patent to the company that would compete with you.
Furthermore, I'm not immoral. I don't believe I should have the legal right to extort other people for my inventions. That's retarded and gay. If you create conditions in which no one can do anything to get what you have except pay ludicrous prices, you are...?
I'll tell everyone my idea that I haven't even proven works yet or drawn up or done anything with, and they'll just complete it before me and actually prove it works and find the way it works and make a prototype, and this is totally not my fault, and this is somehow wrong. The only way they'd be faster is if you literally hadn't invented it yet, and that's not even necessarily true.
