Remember when Google was just a search engine? In the age of Gmail and Google Drive and Google Maps and GooTube and Google phones, it's truly unsettling to think how much of the average person's online activity is now directly feeding the Google data behemoth. Today on #SolutionsWatch, James talks to Rob Braxman (The Internet Privacy Guy) about how to de-Google, and why protecting your privacy online is so important.

Great information. I've been learning about something called Clearphone and want to send this video to them to see if these things are things they have adjusted to help us remain private.

Top video 📹

Thanks for that gents, very much enjoyed. Ever since Rob helped me realize about the wifi triangulation thing, it really creeps me out. But, telecom carriers seem worse :P

I can't recall, but I'm going to guess that Rob recommends only using your smart phone in your own secure network, and not actually going to cafe's etc for wifi.

Much appreciate, unsure if you're checking here :P

defo on the mind of many, great tips, cheers

F-droid and Aurora OSS https://t.me/AuroraOfficial is what I use after I disconnected from google.
Aurora OSS uses a anonymous client to connect to the google playstore. It's a skin layer that allows you to shop in the google play store without being noticed.
For Upoop, replace it with newpipe. Mail client I use Protonmail. Also install Warden scanner and see what various apps are tracking. This data can then be blocked.
