A Rub & Yawn session will tend to be affected by these points concerning your current physical circumstances. They are not black and white, but to the extent they are in hand the session will tend to go well. And the opposite too. These points should be checked before each formal session you do.

Enough sleep/rest

Are you well rested? Have you had enough sleep? You are not tired?

These are serious questions. We are going to be manipulating thoughts and images in your mind that normally have command value over you. The online sessions given by this PaulsRobot system — if you are willing to follow it — will allow you to master some images and associated ideas that up to now have been mastering you.

We will do this by directly looking at and discharging harmful energy from your mind that was connected to these images and ideas. If you try to do this while you are tired or short of sleep, it isn't likely to work well at all.

Proper food and water

Have you eaten well? Nutritious food, not junk? And you are not hungry or thirsty? Some think it helpful to have recently drunk some plain, simple water -- not coffee, not tea, not juice, not a soft drink, just water.

Again, we will be addressing energy manifestations. If your body is short of energy because you have not fed it enough nutritious food, the session is likely to fail for that reason alone. This is a very important point. Do not continue if you are not well fed.

Well-fed means what the words say. It does not only mean that you have eaten what you normally eat, or you just chomped on some fries and a Coke. A skinny model or Hollywood actress might not have been well fed at any point since the age of ten.

No drugs/alcohol etc

Are you under the influence of mind-altering drugs or alcohol? Mind-altering drugs includes mind-altering prescription drugs as well as street drugs. Prescription medications for high blood pressure or diabetes are not mind-altering, while anti-depressants, stimulants etc are. Coffee is OK in moderation.

This is not a moral issue, but a practical one. The techniques used in these sessions will not work properly if you have recently taken drugs or alcohol.

Willing to follow the instructions here?

You should be willing to have this session with PaulsRobot running things, so to speak. We will be addressing a particular subject, which you — not I (Paul) — will choose. But after that I will be telling you to do various specific things with your thoughts on that subject. And usually to write down some notes of your thoughts and reactions as they occur.

Most people obey traffic lights and their boss

In order for you to get the full benefits of this session, you must follow the instructions exactly as given. It is not so hard. You obey instructions when you drive a car on the correct side of the road, and you stop when the light is red and you go when it is green. You do what your boss tells you to do. At least, if you want to keep your driving license or your job, you do.

Most people follow the instructions on an Ikea flat pack

If you buy a furniture flat pack from Ikea, you have to follow the instructions if you are going to build that piece of furniture. If you don't follow the instructions exactly and ignore them instead, you don't get that piece of furniture built properly. When you are a real expert, you don't have to assemble furniture based on someone else's instructions — you can design and build your own. But until you are an expert in an area, it is sensible to follow another's expert instructions if you want to get good results.

If you are willing to put aside any desire to be in complete charge for the duration of this session, willing (and able) to read my instructions and follow my instructions to the letter for the duration of this session, willing to experience something new, then we are in business.

If needed, look at your main objections to being told what to do here. Write them down. Get them out in the open. Chew them over a bit.

You don't have to be 100% free of any objections to being told what to do. You just need to be willing enough to follow exactly the instructions here on what to do in this session.

No distractions?

Is the temperature OK, not too warm or too cold? Is there fresh air circulating? Do you need to open a door or window or turn a fan on and get some stale air or smells removed? Are you likely to not get disturbed for the next thirty minutes or so?

Turn off the phone if you have not already done so. Turn off (not down!) any radio, or TV, or source of chat or music. You will need your full attention for the session. I'm not kidding. This isn't a Teddy Bears' picnic. You will be handling some heavy stuff.

If you are expecting not to get your feathers ruffled at all, either change your mind right now or don't go on any further. Tell others not to disturb you for now. Maybe put a sign on the door saying please do not disturb. Maybe go to a different computer. Maybe do this at a different time of day when things are quieter.

If needed, clean up the area so it is not a distraction. You are about to put some order into your mind, and a tidy room will help. Don't try to do this session with the room a complete mess. It does not have to be perfect, just somewhat clean and tidy.

Anything else?

This is a final check to make sure there is no other reason we shouldn't begin this session.

Do you have half an hour or so free? If there is something you must do right now instead of having a session, go and do it. It won't work to try a session while your attention is distracted onto wanting to pee, or doing that chore you know you ought to be doing.

If your attention is fixated on something that happened, like an argument or running over someone's dog or whatever, that's OK, we can take that up in the session. This point is about something that must be done right now in real life, and if you don't get it done your attention will be on it and not on the session.

All OK? Then it's session time. Woohoo!

How can two adults both working, with young kids, expect to get enough sleep and no distractions? This seems ridiculous.

It might take some planning, but we're not talking about a session every day. Even one session, maybe done at the weekend and away from home, can be life-changing (see the unsolicited testimonials at yawnguy.com).

Do you ever actually read anyone else's posts? Just out of curiosity I watched your video, all the way through, where you toss off some quick comments about someone else's work. I see three recent "replies" of yours were identical "gifts" to some promotion, again nothing to do with the post you attached them to. Anyway, I watched your video.
