So far your advice about culture has been useful. My kids are planning to go trick or treating on Halloween and we will do an American style thanksgiving. It would easier if we had an American style 4 day weekend then too but I will work with what I have. That's the beauty of it. Maybe the compromise would work... but even better I will bring a big smile and a few laughs to ease the tensions between the two oldest brothers in the family who have been neck and neck for years. Grrrrr
make sure the people they visit for it are aware that they are coming ...maybe a halloween party at your house with some kids invited would be a better 1st step :) just a thought ...and invite your family to your thanksgiving and yes try to hel wounds if you can :)
