I have made most of my posts about #couponing and #savings since I am not much of a writer and that is what I like to do...it´s my hobby.
I was introduced to #steemit and thought it was a great platform to interact with people. There are a lot of writer, anarchists, artists, painters, etc. I do not fit into any of those categories. I thought I could share my savings and my coupons with #steemit...and I understand it´s in beta and still growing.
I feel like I am at a crossroad. Since not many people who are on #steemit care about #couponing, and I can see that by the votes I get...do I keep postings, so that I am the pioneer of this category and once people start joining I get more following, or do I give up altogether and not waste my time? I mean I still plan to coupon and save on a daily basis...I just do not know whether the community cares or not.
I have also made some posts in #spanish and feel like that is still growing but also slowly.
So if anyone reads this and has some comments or suggestions I would love to read them. Thank you.
I think you have to just keep doing this. The couponers will get here. I came to Steemit from a network called TSU that went away in early August. There were a lot of couponers. Finding a site that would let them do couponing effectively was a big effort. They are busy trying other sites. As those sites fail, they will be looking for places to go.
The key would be to do the couponing category at a level that doesn't take too much effort for right now. Those posts are probably time-limited in their usefulness, so people won't come here from a Google search. If there are posts you can write about the process of couponing, that would have value for a longer time and be useful for people doing a Google search about how to be an effective couponer. Good luck!
Thank you haphazard-hstead! You make really great points. I heard of Tsu but never really got into it. I wasnt aware it went away. Well, welcome to steemit too!
I will definitely keep on going but focus more on the process and terminology of couponing. :)
You're welcome. Good luck with your couponing on Steemit!
I even promoted my last #couponing post with 10SBD but it was just lost behind all the people who were able to promote for more...
Well...The best advice that I would give you, is that you have to love what you do. If you don't love it, then eventually you will lose all interest. Secondly, do you have something that benefits other people? Saving money definitely interest people of ALL walks. If you want to continue to share that information, than do it because YOU want to. Not just for the $$$...Just a thought...Take care:)
I really, really want to be positive...
You don't need coupons when you're living in Mom's basement and she does all the shopping. And a lot of techie geeks order online and have their stuff home-delivered, so they don't use coupons. You might try offering discounts for things like comfortable desk chairs, ASIC servers, and optometrists.
You can always help your mom with groceries. She could use coupons and I am sure she would love the savings! We all love saving money! :)
Very good points...
