The BBC reported on Friday that Usman Gani, an official at Sindhu Medical Store, an influential Karachi-based vaccine importer, had expressed a desire to get vaccines from India to meet the need.
Usman Ghani said about 90 per cent of the vaccines used in Pakistan come from India. He said the vaccines produced in India are world class, affordable and easy to transport.
Usman Ghani thinks that Pakistan will also get corona vaccine from India in the near future. The drug regulator of India has approved the use of locally made covachield (Oxford-AstraZeneca made in UK) and covacin vaccine made by India Biotech. "India has already received a lot of ticker orders from different countries," Gani said. We have good relations with vaccine manufacturers in India. We will do our best to bring vaccines from the country. But it will take time. '
