Finally we can walk outside here in Madrid! After 2 months of being in lock-down, quarantined under state of alarm, the government has started to loosen the conditions by allowing us at least one hour a day at most outside. This was mostly directed for kids under 12 years, they can walk in parks, under supervision, without making use of park facilities for now, just to get a good breath of fresh air and some exercise. This is particularly very good for people who have been confined in small city apartments, without them having a garden or outside space available to them.
Generally it's good for us all.
You could tell yesterday people were really excited to get a little bit of their freedom back. The mini park right next to my neighborhood was busy and the kids could not contain their excitement. Shouting, running and playing by themselves. It was rather lovely to watch.
Talking of outside...
Spring caught us indoors, we hadn't experienced it outside our premises. It was such a pleasant surprise to see how the formerly dried trees on the streets have finally come to life.
If you know me, then you know I love nature and even more so, I love beautiful flowers. I could hardly contain myself from taking all this amazing photos of the different species of flowers that have sprouted over time. Some of which I have never seen before but still very beautiful to look at nonetheless. I am a sucker for bright colors and this spring Flowers did not seem to disappoint.
Interestingly, this park is within the 1km radius we are allowed to walk from our residence. None of us had been here prior to yesterday. It's surprising how life turns out, helping us to explore our surroundings more keenly and even be more thankful for them. We will definitely be making a couple of walks to this park at least once a week. There's even man-made fish pond with a lot of frogs that the kids enjoy to listen to.
I enjoyed capturing this flowers and even more so, plucking some for our flower vase back at home. They came out pretty good if you ask me. This will make for a great weekly sport, to collect wild flowers to enjoy once back home. It's really all about the little things that make life more warm, bearable and a little fun.
We got 2 bunches.
One for the kitchen and another for the sitting area. I think they look pretty good and are a great addition to the ambiance right now. They look even better when illuminating in the night light.
I don't know how spring is looking for you guys out there, but I hope it gets better and it's as bright and warm as this array of flowers.
SEE YOU ON THE NEXT POST!!
