RE: Life in Chinese Lockdown - Part 2: The New Normal

in #covid192 years ago

Oh, I hope translation did a good job here. I'm paying close attention to how China is buying up entire countries, or at the very least, vital infrastructure, ports, housing etc. Driving up prices so it becomes unaffordable for locals to live in some places even such as New Zealand where housing has gone up crazy amounts because wealthy Chinese simply buy the property at high rates as an investment, but never live there.

Other places, they build entire railways, airports, towns/cities, but using Chinese labour, giving no employment or financial benefit to the locals whatsoever, treat them like slaves, and so on. It's a new colonial empire at work.

Venezuela's oil is valuable to them so... I hope your country is aware enough and careful enough. But I suspect right now, they are not!

Sort:

El actual gobierno de Venezuela creó un fondo económico para inversión china, que se robaron los políticos, pero aún tenemos la deuda por más de 40mil millones de dólares, que estamos pagando con petróleo. El panorama es sombrío. Saludos. aliriera

All I can say it... good luck. Even though it might be a little meaningless XD
