n order to effectively collect emails you need to be offering value on the front end. Simply just asking for an email doesn’t really cut it - so you need to be creative.
For example if I was an info-marketer selling a course on Facebook advertising I may offer a free webinar in exchange for your email. Another offer I could make is a free ebook on Facebook marketing secrets.
This creates a reciprocal value exchange.
You probably fit into one of two camps
I have a website / blog that is already generating traffic
I have a new website / blog that is generating no traffic
If you fit into 1, then you need to speak to your audience and get an understanding of their #1 pain point. Then solve it with your free giveaway in exchange for their email.
You could do this on site with your existing organic traffic or you could use a platform like Facebook to amplify your message at scale.
Using pop-ups or advertorials on your own blog that communicate your offer work well (less effective than they were). If you use a pop-up try to add scarcity or social proof that will help nudge the viewer toward your offer.
If you fit into 2 you are going to need to do a little more detective work. Find websites / blogs in your niche and see how they do it - if they have an offer that is particularly compelling then try to create something similar.
I’d recommend driving paid traffic to a landing page where people can obtain whatever you are offering.
