Hello All,
In this post you will see how i renew and changed color of my old wood table at home. (Don't do this at home without permission of your neighbours.) It cost me 4 days but at last I renewed it.
Took my table to balcony. (What a start =P)
Filled the gaps with wood stick and glue
Started to peel old paint with paint remover
Paint remover turns it to a zombie table
Care it with sandpaper.
Do same things for its under
Last soft touches with sandpaper.
It is totally naked now.
Let's start to paint it from its under. (Yes i renewed some other furnitures too)
Painted it 3 times.
This is why I started to paint from its under. You do not have to wait after last layer.
Pronto. The table is ready for party now.
Hope you enjoy,
Thanks for interest.
It looks like a whole new table and it is now in immaculate condition. It looks like fun and you have a sense of achievement afterwards.I enjoyed how you showed the stages and it doesn't look too big a challenge.
Hahaha 😊👍✌️🙏
Thanks for interest.
You can start with a chair for yourself.
I am a little bit familiar to this kind of job. I were sculpting before😁

Last time I repaired a chair I put a chisel through my hand so tables look a lot safer and better.I was trying to remove the old glue and it slipped. Very clumsy I know , but it taught me to be more careful. Will definitely do some restoration again.

Wow now it looks as good as new, but was the renovation expensive?
Yes. Actually this table close to 40 years old. But looks new now.
It cost me.
3x paint remover 1lt
paint varnish 1.5 lt
Some sandpaper
Some brush
Some solvent
Totally cost: est 70 dollars
70$ is ok enough, since no new wood tables come with this price specially as good as the one in pictures :)
Yes. Just did not pay for labor. I think it would cost me 200-300 if i gave it to a furnisher.

hi @bidesign
good job. I really like seeing all the steps of a project and then seeing the finished result! But is restoration your hobby or is it the first time you've tried it?
congratulations and thanks for sharing with us
Thank you @road2horizon. Restoration is not my hoby. But i were a sculptor before and these kind of jobs familiar to me. Because of this i can say this is not first time for me but i can say i made a post about it for the first time. I do not have atelier because of this i can not do these kind of things regular. But i made some plexiglass rings and prepared their presantations like this one (Step by step) If you interest about these kimd of things check my blog please.
Thanks for interest
Ok thanks, sure I'll go to see :-P
I have a table that I wanted to renew for ages but I'm not that handy and didn't know how to do it. Well, and I'm quite lazy to search for the best video 😊 Your tutorial is however clear and understandable so thank you for it!
Congratulations on your curie vote!
It was same for me too. But made a decision and did it. Actually it is not much detailed explanation but as you see you can do it. Yes it was very tiring but at last it has finished. =)

Awesome.
It's a great feeling to renovate wood furniture.
Wood is such a noble material.
I used to do that everytime I had spare time. Now the materials are just too expensive and many project remained unfinished.
For me it is a very relaxing activity.
Your table looks just great!
Yes. It was tiring but enjoyable. One of the best ways to consume less. Actually there are always new products and we compare prices that we feel materials are too expansive. It is same for me too. I can buy a new one just adding 100, 200 dollars more without any effort or a cheaper one. I am not a antique collector but this wood table close 40 years old (May be older because it was from my father and already bought as an antique) and it will live for 40 years more i think. Thanks for interest.
Very well. What a labor
Thank you. Yes it is
Lovely job!

You did a great job with the table. I like how it turned out, that color is my favorite. It's a plus that instead of buying a new one, you have decided to repair and repaint it. Great job!
I have one on my balcony that needs a bit of attention but the truth is, i can't do it on the balcony as the dust would cover everything, especially if it's windy. i have to take it somewhere to do it and I'm always postponing it.
😊🙏 Thank you. Yes beacuse of this i wrote it (Take your neighbours permission)

Mine would never agree :)
You can try to make it slowly. Less dust and sound producing. And vacuum cleaner before they fly. But can not find a solution for smell of paint and varnish
Those are very good tips, thank you.
