I wanted to do something unique to cover the holes in my sons jeans. At the time, he was basically obsessed with space. This is what I came up with:
You could make any kind of patches. Start with a drawing or clip art.
Then cut out layers for each of the shapes. You can use different materials. Just make sure that it is a heavy enough weight.
Sew each layer. Start with the top and add until the patch is finished.
Finally, add the patch to the jeans. I like to use a zigzag stitch for this part.
In the end, you will have a happy kid instead of a ragamuffin.
