There’s a sculpture floating above our heads that’s never been on our Earth!
It’s been there for about a year at this point, but it’s the first piece of art to be created outside of this world which is where will remain. It’s floating around us all, waiting to be discovered by something (or someone!) out there. So, why was it made in the first place? What will it say about our planet if it’s found? Has the technology that created it been utilized in a beneficial way?
Today, we explore the Laugh Star!

There are a lot of people living on this planet…who don’t want to live on this planet, or at least want to have that option available to them. It may come as a surprise, but this combination of art and space could be a huge step in our ability to survive and thrive outside of this world!
“The story of humanity is art. That’s it.” – Eyal Gever
In 2016, these areas combined when contemporary artist Eyal Gever was asked to create the first ever piece of art in space! Spend a few moments absorbing the whole process through this gorgeous video from The Creators Project…

“The earliest cave paintings were of human hands which were a way of proclaiming and celebrating the presence of humanity. #Laugh will be the 21st century version of that — a mathematically-accurate encapsulation of human laughter, simply floating through space, waiting to be discovered.” — Eyal Gever 2
So, how can this piece of art in space actually affect our future?
Well, it’s not so much the art, but what made it. You got a snippet of the innovation in the video above, but Lowe’s Innovation Labs has partnered with Made in Space to create AMF. AMF is a new zero-gravity 3D printer that will make the acts of being and surviving in space easier by cutting out the middle man when bits and bobs are in need!
Here’s a closer look at how this will work…

This innovation is helping save so much on the time, energy, and resources it normally takes to deliver much needed tools to our friends floating in orbit around us. 4 Think about all doors this could open!

I wasn’t aware of these steps for mankind until a few months ago, yet it has been over a year since it happened. That’s kind of weird, right?
This past year has been one where I found myself caught in the news cycle, constantly nervous about what I was going to learn when I connected myself to the information streaming from the rest of the world. Now I ask myself, and you, what could happen if instead of stocking ourselves daily with information regarding the terrible and heart wrenching happenings in our world, we balanced it out by making a conscious effort to place our attention towards the wonder that’s occurring around us every day? Could this alter our world even in its darkest places?
“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” – Albert Einstein
This is the truth as it stands right now — this Earth is the only place that we have to live. But, now there’s laughter suspended around every single one of us that doesn’t represent us in terms of our age, culture, race, gender, sexuality or political leanings, but as the spirit of the human race as a whole.
What could happen we trained our focus onto this connection?
I’m thinking that maybe, just maybe we could brighten this place up a bit.
Stay open to new possibilities, and happiness may stay nearby!
