The game is perhaps the most natural human condition, and the challenge as an idea is exciting. The two together - an explosive combination.
Yahoo has installed a huge touchscreen on 20 bus stops in San Francisco and the idea is for all waiting passengers to play online games against waiting at the other stops. Not only a great way to kill time but also a provocation to the competition in each of us.
Among the possible games are futuristic sports, puzzles and what not. Naturally there is a reward - the quarter that gathers the most points before the end of the week, will host a street party featuring the OK Go band.
The whole initiative is made possible by a rather "unclear" advertising partnership between Yahoo, the San Francisco Transportation Agency and the Clear Channel, but that should not spoil the pleasure of the passengers.
Let the games begin!
