We have two planter boxes growing in our backyard this year. The one pictured above has two nice tomato plants growing. They are different varieties of tomatoes. The one on the left will produce smaller tomatoes that the larger plant on the right. Hopefully everywhere you see a little flower will turn into a tomato over the next month.
Here is one of the flowers that has started to turn into a tomato. Still very tiny but slowly becoming a nice bounty from the garden.
The second planter isn't nearly as abundant. On the right is supposed to be basil, which just never took off this year. It is growing slowly but at this rate I don't think we will get much of a harvest this year. On the left we have a cucumber plant. I'm still pretty hopeful we will get a full cucumbers out of it.
I tried to get a photo of one of the miniature cucumbers but it was a bit awkward and this was the best shot I ended up with. If you look real close you can pick out the cucumber but it kind of just blends in with the rest of the plant.
That's our outdoor garden this year. I have a few other more permanent plants around the backyard but in terms of garden we are just growing these two planters this year. I hope you enjoyed seeing my plants because I'm going to have lots more to share in the future!
Looks great! Basil and cucumbers tend to be temperamental in my garden as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the growth in your garden!
