Welcome to The 5, a weekly collection of five #creativecoin artists and their posts curated by the Creative Coin Fund.
A brief announcement before we get to our featured posts: As of July 12, we will begin paying delegation rewards for Creative Coin delegated to the Fund. You can read the full details in this post.
For the week of June 30 to July 6, we found the work of these artists worthy of a 100 percent upvote.
The photography of @babeltrips
Often we find posts for the #monomad challenge that share a single photo with very little text and no real justification for its publication as a black and white photo. In Nature in Black And White @babeltrips gives us five photos and a nice description of a visit she and her friend took to a stream in Danang, Vietnam. The photos would probably not be improved with color; the lack of color helps to isolate and give emphasis to the elements in her composition.
The fiction of @rakushasu
"Old Phone" is a chilling horror story, even though it takes a minute to get the reader hooked, and perhaps could use a stronger ending. This author is definitely worth a follow: there's great work on the way.
The fiction of @dmoonfire
Nor Curse Be Found is a new fantasy serial with a fascinating premise. The story is a sequel to the tale of Beauty and the Beast, and the two are on a quest to get cursed because Beauty wants the Beast she fell in love with, not the prince. The link above is to chapter seven; there's still time to catch up and follow along.
The fiction of @abisag
We enjoyed translating (using Google) and reading several stories written for the Literatos community's Fantastic Short Story Contest. "The day the sun got depressed" stood out as our favorite because of its perfect, storytelling voice. We also love the illustrations, two of which are collages made by the author.
The collage of @quantumg
In Nachtkrabb, @quantumg shares a horror collage for the LMAC contest created with the template above as a starting point. We especially enjoyed the story that inspired his collage, a spooky German legend about a night crab used to keep children away from the forest.
