Calling all Creatives!

Creative Coin is almost here!

pageBreak.png

A few days ago, @swelker101 announced that Creative Coin is going to be launched this weekend and we are prepping the Creative Coin discord as we speak and will have that ready as soon as possible.

So what types of things will Creative Coin encompass? The creative arts fields are very diverse and covers a wide range of topics from music to poetry. Here is a short but ever expanding list of some of the topics that will be covered by the creativecoin tag.

  • photography
  • music
  • art
  • painting
  • poetry
  • creative writings (story writings and freewrites)
  • design
  • crafts
  • video

Like I said, this is just some ideas, as the creative arts fields covers a vast array of topics.

We have also created an account called @notcreative that will be used for people that misuse tags in an attempt to post unrelated content under the creativecoin tag. This account will be funded with stake that will remove only the pending Creative Coin rewards and will not affect any of the other rewards that are pending on posts.

There will be different contest related to some of the different subjects where Creative Coin will be given as prizes. For example, my weekly Deranged Photography Contest will be adding Creative Coin as a prize in addition to PAL that is already being given to the winners.

We are hoping that Creative Coin sparks the creativity in all of you to do something amazing and share it with the Steemit Community. We are also hoping that the Creative Coin discord becomes a place where all of the creatives on the platform can come together and have a good time and share ideas on their different projects that they are working on.

Let's all work together to make the Steemit platform beautiful.

art/storytelling/poetry/music to my ears @derangedvisions

I've watched with sadness as interesting creative content has consistently been undervalued more and more over the last year on steem. Also, that type of content is becoming rarer and rarer.

The fact is that if everyone wrote nothing but HF21 posts then we would have zero market appeal outside of steem. If the only posts that get any meaningful rewards on here are those about steem blockchain politics, or 'future of steem' posts, or 'my vision of steem' posts then steem is doomed to fail. My reasoning behind that statement is that we need to incentivise high quality creative works that will appeal to the masses just as much we do high quality journalistic writing.

At the moment - however well written - what is being incentivised is an echo chamber of information that has little to no interest to anyone other than an elite few hundred people who are heavily involved in steem and steem governance.

I really hope creative coin helps bring back some of the high quality creatives that have left, and helps retain those who are already here.

I had a similar idea for a project with communities & SMT last year but I couldn't push it forward for various reasons.

We are also hoping that the Creative Coin discord becomes a place where all of the creatives on the platform can come together and have a good time and share ideas on their different projects that they are working on.

Awesome, you've got my support 100% 🙂

P.s. I'm gonna tag some creative writing projects in this comment who should definitely know about creative coin.

With the implementation of the tribe system here on Steemit, it is giving everyone the ability to find their niche and to have a way to fine tune their audience they are broadcasting their posts to and not be lost among the posts that are constantly being put out there. The different tribes and their tokens associated with them are just another layer added to the Steem ecosystem and a way that makes this blockchain so amazing for creators and investors alike.

I agree that it has been sad to see the decline of the creative type of content, but we are hoping that there will be a resurgence as Creative Coin rolls out. Thank you for the support as we move forward.

very well said my friend xx

Yes, yes and yes x

So true!

To further support your comments, I have noticed that of the over 200 accounts I have followed because I loved the original content they posted, only 20 or so are still actively sharing new content two years later. I think the rest of them left because they got tired of having their content being unappreciated.

Even after the last hard fork, I think some of them closed their accounts. Many people set their accounts to autovote on trails, and probably didn't know how badly the HF would impact their decision. I think some of the people who followed me back only set the autovotes up because they probably thought it was easier to earn money that way than to create content.

July has been a wonderful blessing. Finding new rewards springing up in the steem engine wallet every day without even trying, it's a budding utopia right now.

This is an excellent idea and a great help for artists. What about drawing?

Of course, drawing is a form of art.

Thanks for helping to spread the word Wes! Looking forward to us launching this weekend!

Thanks for this, now my dystopian stories will shine in the correct community!!

Me too!!!!

♥ Greetings to each and every one of you, my eSTEEMed friends, in particular for you, @derangedvisions... A Venezuelan artist salutes you... It is encouraging every time these beautiful initiatives arise that help to give value to the crypto world and that serve as a stimulating space of diffusion for those who, like me, try to continue creating in spite of the difficult conditions like the ones we suffer in Venezuela. Of course I will join Creative Coin, and upvote and resteem it.
☺ One suggestion:... Also consider proposals of Action Art, Performances, Land Art and other novel tendencies of contemporary art that, unfortunately, are not seen very often in the steem-world.

♦ You are absolutely right @raj808 and it is very true that basically the platform has lost a lot of creativity and between the tricks of some to get votes and the abundant and reiterative post on steem and steem and steem... I try to develop a school of contemporary art, but I do it for the simple pleasure of publishing because neither the rewards nor the comments seem to indicate that someone is interested... But cheer up... and let's support this great initiative.

But cheer up... and let's support this great initiative.

I'm cheerful yomismosoy 👍

I'm just someone who speaks their minds and doesn't follow the crowd, unless the crowd is right 😉

Your art project sounds interesting, I shall check out your profile.

The examples I gave for were just a few ideas of what would be supported. Of course there are many different forms of creativity that would be considered. It is going to be pretty exciting to see what the community comes up with regarding Creative Coin. There are so many possibilities. The creativity on this platform is pretty amazing.

Awesome news and more great opportunities now for creatives to find their niche, connect, create more and earn more. So great to see great things happening in the community for sure! Salute

Nice now I can let my dystopian stories shine. Gonna prep for it

I'm randomly moving through some comments here and this video happens to catch my eye. LOL. Love the pen drop at the end. Haha. Where did this come from?

This is so exciting and something that is really needed on here. I really forward to getting to connect more with other creators through this. Resteemed so that hopefully more people can see this xx

This is going to be pretty cool for all of the creatives out there.

Grow that ecosystem!!!

This is a good new for every creative person out there. It is a source of motivation and incentive to support those who are creative.

Bravo!

Ah... funny i just asker you in moonbase about this, then i find this. Awesome idea. Let me know how i can get involved.

We will be making another announcement soon as we get closer and closer to the launch of the site and the drop.

This sounds really awesome man! Love it!

Here's to hoping it's awesome. I've gone back and changed many of my tags to #creativecoin - I create new art every single day (since April 21, 2012) - so just about all my stuff is creative. Definitely looking forward to a currency that's all about the creativity.

This is amazing - I am really looking forward to the launch of this, and I will certainly be making use of it when I can!
Much Love, and the best of luck with this wonderful new journey!

This looks exciting. I'm a writer and a musician. I've published some things and posted some things. Though I plan to do the latter, here, I would add a caution to those of you with the same idea: If you are interested in publishing a story, essay, book, what have you, you will find that there are publishers and magazines and such who will not accept any submission that has been "published" online. That is, if you decide to post your brilliant and compelling and beautiful story, here, then you will find that at least some doors in the publishing world will be closed to you in terms of that story: Think about your long-term goals for any particular piece before posting it.

That said, I have some things that will find there way up on Steemit; it is my hope that this forum will get me a reader/listener or two.

Very cool mate . Glad to see you active here back on steem

Don't know if it is technically possible, or if this coin is going to even be a staked coin, but if it is, maybe you guys could consider a different voting window than the 7 day STEEM window. Creative work seems to be way more timeless than most other content on STEEM.

Also, what we realy need for creative work is some sort of gateway for making sales outside of the STEEM eco system.

Been thinking of creating a markdown subset/template for posting poems, short stories and fiction chapters. Such a template could be combined with an e-book store DApp for non-STEEM sales of epubs generated from a collection of posts. I imagine similar constructs could be possible for other types of creative work. Photo books, music CD-ISOs. etc. I won't write all of that, but if you guys are willing to take the lead, drop me a message and I'll pick up a few small to medium development tasks if you like.
