I'm new to Steem, having been inspired to join listening to the fabulous @organduo podcast.
One of the things I find really hard in a busy life with a full time job, studying part time and having two children is finding consistent time to practice (and enjoy) organ music. To that end I think I need to set myself some kind of accountability challenge by trying to upload a video each week.
At present I'm working through the Oxford Service Music books, and am currently brushing up a Chaccone by Pachelbel. To keep in my hand with practical service playing I'm going to try to learn and play one hymn or chorale tune new to me each week. The goal is to present for you something to listen to - probably not perfect or completely polished but at least I'll be playing!
Once my non-music studies die down I'll try to improve my improvisation and general musicianship too. My end goal is to prove to myself that despite not having an organ teacher for more than 20 years now I can improve and produce a sound that people want to listen to (rather than being forced by being in the room whilst I'm playing).
Let me know what you think to my plan - I'd love to hear your comments!
I'm also very new to Steem, so any advice on using this platform well would be welcome too!
Welcome to steem, glad to have you here. @organduo already made the offer but feel free to ask any questions along the way. It can be a bit daunting. My advice is to simply write about what you're passionate about. And have fun.
Glad to know you like our podcast... Welcome to Steem and feel free to ask any question when you feel stuck. And stuck will get for sure...

I remember times when I was in second place in Secrets of Organ Playing Contest... There were only 2 pasticipants... Now number of participants is increasing

PS. Explore the #secretsoforganplaying tag for all our organ related posts. Of course, Steem is much more than organ playing but it’s what got me here in the first place.

Also participating in our Secrets of Organ Playing Contest increases motivation to practice.
Yes. Sometimes I'm to tired or too lazy to practice. But when I remember contest... I go to practice

Also consider using palnet, neoxian, marlians, and upfundme tags to earn extra rewards in different tokens beside STEEM. There are other tags to use. Check out section Tribes on SteemPeak.
Welcome to Steem. Nice to see the number of organists on the platform growing. Check out @organduo's contest, it is a great motivation for consistent practice, or, as in my case, to get over performance anxiety.
I can confirm it 😉
