We experienced 3 hot days in a row ( approaching 40 Celsius ) and I haven't been able to do much.
Yesterday, I decided to just jot down some previous sentences from my The Monster of Disco (and the other monsters) book/work in progress and the pictures show what followed next.
First this creature/monster came to me..
It was loosely based on this colorful fellow that I drew many moons ago:
and eventually transmorphed into this:
At first I wanted to make it a two limbed monster but - trying to add 'movement' to the picture and grabbing my coloring pens - it ended up becoming an octopus
but then without the 'pus'.
Although, you never know, it's a monster after all, so it might be full of it. In fact, that might explain its extremely red nose.
At the right of the above picture, you see part of the dance floor/disco floor, of which I'll share a close up next:
Apparently, the voices (of the other monsters ) made it onto the dancefloor, trying to ruin the party.
We all have different 'voices' in our heads/ They usually tell us things that do not make us happy.
If you let the voices grow too powerful, they can turn into MONSTERS
The above text, that I have written a while ago ( probably last year ) inspired me to write down some of the voices on the dance floor.
Although it might have been these words, that I scribbled into my notebook in such an ugly handwriting that I decided not to include a picture:
Once the voices manage to appear on the dance-/disco floor, something is seriously wrong. Unless they transform into a more positive version of themselves by The Monster of Disco's dancing or are being tuned out and turned into music, light colors, flow (of energy)*
And here's the full page with some regurgitated text ( also from ages ago )
There are a lot of monsters in this world. The Monster of Disco felt different from all of them. Different and disco-nnected
Now let me end this with a close up of my art, on a table at the terrace near the river beach where I chilled before and after my lunch, as it was basically impossible to not be in or at least around the water on a day like yesterday.
I cycled to the village and back home - a serious workout, even more on a hot day - to compensate for the caloric intake and stay sane, physically and mentally. That is, as as sane as I can be in a world run by insanity/insane people.
Hope you liked this insight into my creative process that is still a mystery to me, on most days, as can be read in last week's Do You Understand Your Creative Process?
TO BE CONVINUED...
Wine, chips and burger? Yes please. But 40 degrees - ouch. Hope you are getting in the river a lot!
Ugly? Toi? No Vincent, I'm afraid not. I've known some ugly people and you just ain't one.
Lazy? You're kiddin', right? All those long treks, bike rides, house moves, artisting, Hiv(e)ing. You're hardly a couch potato now, are you?
What did you do today? You created a monster:) and did a serious workout.
Failure? Loser? I think not! No man is a failure who has friends. Besides, haven't you won life's lottery? You live as you choose beholden to none. I'd call that success.
And since I love to repeat myself, I'll say it again... you think too much.
I love your post, dearest friend @diaryofacreative .... Really rich in treasures of self-awareness - keep doing what you're doing!!

Always! ;>)
Well, it's like the monster of disco is moving house. Here we are! I'm off, shortly, to cycle with a notebook in my backpack to see what creative ideas I can bring home.
See you around!
This creative 'monster' likes to move house, regularly ( 7 years must be a record! )
Never a bad idea ;<)
See ya!👋
