What does this word in the brackets mean? It means speaking long, or talking with confidence about a subject you don't have any training or authority in, or at least you're not an expert in it.
I've noticed that this is a huge barrier for me and I proactively decided to expose myself to the circumstances in which I don't get to think nor learn anymore about a particular subject, but just to speak my own mind about it without acquaring great knowledge.
This skill can provide you with great benefits such as rapidly creating your arguments, and learning how to debate with others even though you might have less knowledge then they do. It can help you to present things and go deep into discussing topics.
I've first start to tackle this problem a few weeks ago, when I decided to record myself live in one of the private facebook groups from the course I've taken.
All kinds of feelings and thoughts popped up.
But I reminded myself that it's perfectly fine to get overwhelmed by new situations in which you feel vaulnerable and could potentially expose yourself in a bad light. So I relaxed and embraced those emotions and thoughts. I knew that it was the best thing to do. It was certainly not the easiest way to go about it, but it's ONLY by those uncomfortable tasks and events that we get a chance to grow and expand as a person. When you pass across this internal resistance, you get to access the things that were once outside your safe reality.
All those things that you've been running away from suddenly get back down into your reach.
You've planted a seed, and created a space for it to grow. It's so valuable to do this every once in a while. To pick a fear of yours, and attack it.
By the end of this year, I want to get totally comfortable with talking about things I'm not 100% sure I could talk about on my own. That's why me and my friend decided to pick one topic several times a week, and to present it on video without learning about it, but just to give it our own, personal "spin."
By being able to tackle something without being fully ready for it, you develop a powerful self-trust and you raise your confidence to the next level. I think that this is a very attractive and underrated trait. It's also an important trait to develop because you're not getting the opportunity to master it at school. If you say something wrong, there is a good chance that you'll be punished for it, either by a lower grade, or by your friends laughing at you.
It's true that sometimes Ultracrepiderians can be annoying as fuck, especially high-school kids in the public transport. But I don't mean about that kind of conversations like just throwing out whatever your brain hands you. That can just be plain stupid and unripe. I mean providing interesting theories and insightful answers to the things you're unsure of, on point.
Meeting people and getting to know them
This skill is also a GREAT tool to use to communicate with the new people you meet because they get to know you way faster than if you would just go about sharing facts between each other that don't really reveal anything personal and unique about you.
When you're just sharing your opinions with someone, they gain a greater insight into yourself and the position you're coming from. They might be able to better understand your life and why you've developed the charcter that you are.
It's only way to bring up that true connection and chemistry that you could potentially have with someone. This is something that's in my opinon missing from our PC culture nowadays. People play it safe which creates an unfortunate consequence that they don't really have any close personal connections and someone who they can talk to about anything and also share their personal problems.
Unfiltered conversation with the people we trust in is the social needs that we crave as human beings. Loneliness in people doesn't necessarily emerge only in the individuals who don't really talk to people on daily basis and are isolated from the outside world.
Loneliness can quite as well emerge in extroverted individuals that have many friends, but all of their connections are working just on surface, they're not really sharing their energy with each other.
We're not a group of robots with AI, that operate inside certain software that has been built into it. Our software is our life, and that's why we should focus on sharing experience that is life, not just it's information.
Play with this yourself!
With all of this in mind, remind yourself to get into some topic without much insight, drop your ego for a second and be willing to say something silly which afterwards you can all laugh at. Don't take life too seriously!!
'till the next time.
