The stadium will be built at a cost of $100 million and will be available for international matches in two years.
When completed, the stadium will snatch the title of the sport’s largest stadium from Australia’s Melbourne Cricket Ground which welcomes around 100,000 audience.
“The stadium will have 76 corporate boxes, four dressing rooms, a clubhouse and an Olympic-size swimming pool,” said Gujarat Cricket Association vice president Parimal Nathwani, who put the overall cost of the project in the city of Ahmedabad at seven billion rupees.
