Cricket Australia banned Steven Smith and David Warner from all forms of cricket. The authorities have also banned their Indian Premier League. The decision was taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the event of ball tampering.
In the statement, the Indian Cricket Board said Smith and Warner have been banned from the IPL after discussions with Acting President CK Khanna, IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla and General Secretary Amitab Chowdhury.
And because of this, they have already started searching for alternatives to Warner. Instead of replacing the odd hard-hitting batsmen, they are now planning to pick up the Sri Lankan opener Kusal Perera.
A tweet from BBC News reporter Azam Amin said. Although there is still no confirmation. But it is not necessary to say that this batsman is ahead of the batsman who is ahead of the replacement of Warner.
IPL team SunRisers Hyderabad has approached Kusal Janith Perera as possible replacement for banned David Warner, deal yet to be finalized
