Sri Lanka as expected performed poorly in the test series against India which lead them to whitewash the Lions at its own den.
The young and inexperienced Lankans not only didn't perform well but also had issues of fitness and injuries as their front-line left arm spinner and part time captain Rangana Herath took a blow to his thumb and also Asela Gunaratne, the army man who came to fame in the previous test series against Zimbabwe also had to undergo a shoulder surgery in the past few weeks. The ruthless Indians have never whitewashed Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and now holds the pride as Sri Lanka has never been whitewashed in a test series in their own backyard. This unfortunate event has most of the Sri Lankan cricket fans' eyebrows raised in distress and shame and has them left no hope.
